One of the dumbest responses came from... Mahfuz Omar, its vice-president. This isn't really a big surprise because it is... well, Mahfuz Omar. His reply was: "Hasan Ali is a parasite!" Is this all that the party's VICE PRESIDENT could muster?! Lekeh betul!

But then, "lekeh" is the right word to describe many of PAS' leaders right now - ulamak and non-ulamak alike. And I should know, for this is the party that I had staunchly supported all the way back from 1983 to October 2008. But I was just a common foot-soldier, so those in PAS might want to say that "I don't know nuts about the party." But can you rightly say the same of Datuk Hasan Ali...?

Essentially, Hasan is saying what many of us former PAS supporters already know: that PAS is no longer the party it once was. Fighting for and implementing Islam is the last thing on its mind; to be USED only as capital for individuals to gain power... The PAS Parasites.

Can't accept this?... that a party of so many ulamaks and those who claim to know and are fighting for Islam is now the opposite? Well, let's perform the acid test to see whether this is true or otherwise.

Remember the DUMC matter which Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim had tried so hard to make light of and sweep under the carpet? [PSST! DUMC: Khalid is now in charge of Islamic Affairs, so the coast is clear to get back with your activities]. Khalid is from PKR, and you know what kind of a party it is when it comes to Islam. Unfortunately, the PAS leaders are not much different!

When the case first surfaced, PAS secretary-general, Mustapa Ali - instead of being concerned about Muslims converting to another religion - had made a statement accusing Umno of being involved with JAIS in the raid... and totally ignoring the fact of the matter. Sampai jadi DAYUS gini pemimpin PAS, punya takut!

By the way, Mustapa Ali: WHERE is the proof which you claimed you had?... Dok simpan dalam seluaq ke? Yes, this is the SECRETARY-GENERAL of the `Islamic' party which had thumped its chest claiming: "Perlembagaan kami adalah Al-Quran dan Hadith" (Tapi hanya kalau DAP setuju).

And these are the parasites who had prohibited its members from attending the Gathering of One Million Muslims (Himpun) - something organised with the aim of preserving the faith of Muslims.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had asked something pertinent on this matter: "What is PAS's goal? Is PAS really an Islamic party or just superficial in character?"

For Muslims, these questions must be given serious thought. And for PAS' members: Are you going to let these parasites remain in control? Or will you be brave and honest enough to do the right thing?

Shahrizat & NFC: Who's the Lembu Now?

Despite their bravado, I'm betting Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin and PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli will get into a lot of trouble in the lawsuit filed by Datuk Sharizat Abdul Jalil. And so will Shahrizat and her husband when things unfold.

The Malaysian Insider reported that Zuraida "laughed off" the suit, "saying the court action only took the minister a step closer to ending her own political career." Maybe. But Zuraida and Rafizi shouldn't forget that the suit wasn't filed in haste - the plaintiff and her lawyer had definitely looked deeply into what the PKR duo had previously said and written... and I wouldn't want to be in their shoes when these facts are established in court later.

But I wouldn't want to be in Shahrizat's or her husband's shoes either, for the NFC matter - directly and indirectly - will suck down at least one of them.

Shahrizat's husband, Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Salleh Ismail, had given his side of the story. However, a lot of questions still remain unanswered. For instance, Salleh had claimed that the attacks were politically motivated. This is likely true: however, it wouldn't have happened had Salleh and Shahrizat not gotten themselves in this quandry in the first place.

Appointing your own children as directors - not executives or even managers: Can they blame others when they are accused of cronyism?

Then there's that Datuk who was arrested for attempting to bribe MACC and police officers from investigating the matter: had this slimy Datuk done this on his own accord? Or, was he acting on someone's behalf?

Salleh, on his part, tried to focus the issue on the fact that this Datuk "was not related to him or any of his family members", and that the latter "was engaged to do corporate communications and media relations for NFC"... at about the same time as when the NFC matter surfaced.

Can you blame others for having suspicions?

Too many questions remain and Shahrizat has become a huge liability for Umno and the BN. Najib will have to remember that the rakyat is watching: If he wants the electorate to take Umno and the BN seriously in the next General Elections, then he must do the right thing. Dropping Shahrizat is just one. He musn't stop at that - investigations into the NFC must run its course and real action must be taken should there be evidence of wrongdoings. Including of attempts to bribe the investigators.

Shahrizat, Salleh, Zuraida and Rafizi - we will see who the lembus are.

Azwan Ali Breaks World `Taubat' Record!

Now how's this for the fastest `taubat' (repentance) ever given the actions that had preceded it! Congratulations, Azwan Ali, for making it to the Mat Cendana Book of Records!

Television personality Azwan Ali had, only days ago, gleefully lauded Anwar Ibrahim's acquittal while making abusive attacks against Saiful Bukhary, condemned Tun Dr Mahathir and also threatened his sister Ummi Hafilda Ali. Well, what can you expect from someone who is known for his laser-tipped tongue - something which he seems to be unconcerned about and even proud of.

But, after all of one day at the police-station, Azwan has made an about turn... siap dengan sumpah toksae buat dah, campur menangis teresak-esak macam dalam filem Shaw Brothers yang tak berapa laku!

My, oh my, that was fast! So how did this come about? From the egoistic, harsh, abusive and threatening mode to being meek-as-a-mouse? Apa rahsianya, Azwan, kongsi la dengan kita semua? One can make millions from selling the secret.

Is it this one, as mentioned by OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed:

Whoever commits the offence of criminal intimidation shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine or with both;

and if the threat is to cause death or grievous hurt, or to cause the destruction of any property by fire, or to cause an offence punishable with death or imprisonment,
or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years, or to impute unchastity to a woman, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years or with fine or with both.

Well, at least Azwan is smart enough to know when to swallow his pride. Azwan, being a lawyer, should know what might become of him should he land in Sungai Buloh, with inmates winking and calling him Angelina Jolie. Betul tak, Azwan?

Lotus: The Only Way to Take Proton & Perodua to the Bigtime

Let's face the cold, hard truth first: Proton and Perodua cars, in their current form, will remain as only Jaguh Kampung and can never take on the international market. And they will continue to force Malaysians to pay more for cars due to the protection they receive from the government.

Why have these `national car' projects continue when they don't directly benefit us? Why should Malaysians continue to `pikul biawak'' on our backs?

You can't blame Tun Dr Mahathir for having a big dream. However, after all these years given to the national car project, it's time to either change direction or to move to a new level. Only time will tell whether Khazanah's sale of Proton to DRB-Hicom is the best option, and that something has to be done about Proton, which is going nowhere.

But will selling off Lotus be a good move?

AFP reports that DRB-Hicom is considering "spinning off the company's money-losing Britain-based sports car unit Group Lotus." It said China's Shanghai Auto, which owns MG Rover, is interested.

It does look like a good option, selling off this non-profitable unit owned by Proton. After all, what good is it to have a marque name which doesn't bring you anything - unless if prestige is all that you are looking for.

If you'd look at Lotus' website here, and the cars that sell: they look really nice but how many people are willing - or can afford - to buy them?

Lotus Evora

Yes, there are many people in the world who can afford to buy these Lotus sports cars. However, it is clear that not too many of them are, which is why DRB-Hicom might simply just get rid of it.

By the way, some people might question what experience I have about the automobiles business? Well, I had driven cars since 1982, and that's a lot longer than Henry Ford's own experience when he first started his company:-P

In my opinion, the Lotus name is the most valuable asset if DRB-Hicom/Proton really want to enter the international market. The harsh reality is this: people elsewhere aren't likely to be attracted to buy Proton and Perodua cars. Why? The same reasons that we won't buy Skoda and Chery.

But Lotus cars - Ah, this sounds a lot more attractive than Proton, Perodua, Skoda and Chery combined... and especially when they are less than RM200,000.

"But how can you sell Lotus cars at less than that?!" you might ask. Yes, you can - but they will have to be bread-and-butter cars, not the current sports cars... which no one buys.

This is the Mercedes C200, and it's more than RM200,000. But imagine the Merc star on the grille being replaced by the Lotus logo, and selling for around RM150,000 or a bit less: wouldn't you at least be attracted to consider buying it? This, I feel, is the type of cars that Lotus - through DRB-Hicom/Proton - should be making if they want to enter the international market.

The 2,ooo-3,000 c.c. market, with the Lotus name: this could be the ticket to the international market. Yes, there are so many other manufacturers here, and established ones too. However, when it is a LOTUS, which not only looks attractive but also comes at an attractive price, there is a lot more hope of success than if the same model is called "Proton" or "Perodua".

Teresa Kok to Replace Hasan Ali as Islamic Affairs Exco

And I say why not, since Teresa Kok of the DAP is the most suitable person when it comes to Pakatan Rakyat's state government in Selangor.

By the way, gempaq tak aku guna `locus standi' ni; macam orang kat Mahkamah Tinggi Jalan Duta Heheh!]

"Lega betul itu kacau punya olang, Hasan Ali sudah talak. Ikut suka lah kalau olang Islam mau masuk Kristian pun!"

This is what Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim had posted at Facebook: "Pengumuman Exco yang bakal ganti Dato Hasan Ali hanya akan dibuat Rabu ini."

People are saying Selangor PAS commissioner and Meru assemblyman Dr Rani Osman will be taking over Hasan's portfolios. Dr Rani ni punya TERHEGEH-HEGEH nak ke jawatan ni sampai sudah berjanji: "Dr Rani had reportedly said that he would abide by party orders". So that's it folks - unlike Hasan Ali, whose actions were based on Islam, Dr Rani will act based on what PAS, the party, says.

And PAS, based on its previous responses on matters concerning Islam - especially Hudud - will abide by what the DAP wants. Since this is the case, why not let Teresa Kok be the Islamic Affairs exco? Teresa and the DAP don't want Islam... and neither does PAS.

Super Cheap Books at Sunway Giza!

Football Nation, which was published in 2010, at RM8!... AND MORE!

It's been more than three months since my last post here, and it's NOT about my favourite `modal' who wasn't found guilty (which is different from "innocent"); nor about Hasan Ali's expulsion (which says a lot about what PAS really is right now. And definitely not about two former Umno bloggers who now want to be the loyal servants of the DAP (talk about `self-sacrificing'!). Instead, it's about a great deal that I've recently discovered. Yeah, this blog is becoming more multi-purpose.

Actually, it was my wife who had discovered this temporary stall at Sunway Giza. This is in Section 5 Kota Damansara (although the developer wants the place to be known as "Sunway Damansara"), opposite The Strand and very near to The Curve and Ikea. The Google Maps link is here.

Usually I'd avoid going to Sunway Giza despite it being very near to my wife's house due to the traffic congestion in its vicinity. However, when she mentioned about "very cheap books there", I simply had to go and see for myself.

This stall is at the ground floor near one of the entrances. It's just a stall, not a bookstore, so there are just limited titles. The books might not be the latest but there just might be a few that you'll like. Besides Football Nation, I bought three other books:

This one above is the most expensive at RM28 (hard cover; 1,623 pages; 2003). The image is taken from Goodreads.com and mine doesn't come with the CD-ROM etc as stated at the bottom of this particular cover.

The third book I bought was Operation Mincemeat (RM8; 414 pages; 2010) by Ben Macintyre, an editor with The Times. It's an account of a real operation during World War II where the Germans were led to believe that invasion plans found on a dead body were genuine. This is very good writing and I'd recommend it to war buffs.

Imperial Life in the Emerald City - Inside Baghdad's Green Zone is also at RM8 (356 pages; 2008) and is a winner of the "Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction".

The stall was closing at 10 PM, which (fortunately?) prevented me from buying even more books. I hope this stall will be around for some time yet. I don't know where they have gotten these books and being able to sell them so cheaply. They are doing a great thing and hopefully they will add to the titles available.

Non-Muslims should hurry WHILE STOCKS LAST!!...

Kelantan Menteri Besar and PAS spiritual leader, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has single-handedly changed Malaysia's Constitution overnight to give you this once-in-a-lifetime (or a few times a year depending on what he's trying to sell) - he guarantees the implementation of hudud will only apply to Muslims!

This is what Nik Aziz said at his Facebook update two hours ago:

You will have to click on the image to read it... unless if you are willing to squint really hard. But if you're too lazy to do that, I'll reproduce it in full here, helpful guy that I am: I guaranty if hudud punishment is being implemented in Kelantan, it would not take effect upon the non-Muslims because this punishment only governs Muslims.

Hmm... wasn't there a directive by Pakatan Rakyat yesterday that forbids its leaders to shut their mouths and refrain from commenting on hudud? But Nik Aziz isn't talking - it's writing, right? Anyway, the PAS zealots can also use this as `evidence' that Nik Aziz doesn't fear action by Pakatan - he only fears Allah.

But I digress: let's see his declaration again. Now, a prominent lawyer (bukae hok baru tubik UiTM dekat bulae puasa, hok baru lepah chambering kat Mat Diah, Mek Yah & Dol, Merapoh), Datuk Zaid Ibrahim had said this: Hudud will be applicable TO ALL , as was reported in THE MOLE last Monday.

Someone might say: "The guy who wrote it might have misunderstood what Zaid had said... maybe twisted it." Well, Zaid had repeated it at his residence at Tropicana Golf Resort, Petaling Jaya at around noon yesterday (Tuesday, Sept 27)... and there were at least 50 people who must have heard it. Plus it was recorded by a few television stations.

Here is the essence of what Zaid had said. And take note that it wasn't Zaid "pandai-pandai dia" - he was quoting something which former Lord President, Tun Salleh Abas had opined on.

(1) Hudud cannot be implemented in just one state only (e.g. Kelantan)
(2) If it is implemented, it will apply to everybody in the country - Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Jews, Atheists, Bangladehis, Australians...

Now, please don't be too quick in accusing me, Zaid or anybody who doesn't just say "Yes, yes -Tok Guru is always right!... he's the best thing to have happened to Malaysia since the invention of roti canai!" - that we are "anti-hudud, anti-Islam" or whatever. With me, it's because I don't accept PAS as being the guardian or sole authority on Islam: merely proclaiming "Al-Quran dan Hadith adalah perlembagaan kami" doesn't quite cut it... especially when one doesn't live up to it.

Anyway, we aren't the issue here. The fact of the matter is, Nik Aziz is giving a false guarantee here. So what are you going to do about it - report this to Fomca?

Kopral Jenain's Conviction: A Travesty of Justice

Kopral Jenain Subi was found "guilty of causing the death of teenager Aminulrasyid Amzah" by Sessions Court judge Latifah Mohd Tahar and is sentenced to five years in prison.

Something is dreadfully wrong here: if this is "justice", I don't want any part of it.

Some might say Kopral Jenain "got off rather lightly" since the maximum sentence under the 304 (a) section that he was charged with provides for a maximum of 30 years and a fine upon conviction. But the question that must be asked is this: despite what the Sessions Court judge says, is Kopral Jenain really guilty in the first place?!

As of the writing of this post, details of the judgement are still scare. I've been looking around the Internet for a transcript of what the judge had pronounced but I couldn't find it. Most of the items at the news sites and blogs repeat pretty much the same thing as this report from Bernama. As such it is impossible to know what it was that had led the judge to find Kopral Jenain guilty.

For the moment, I'd like to address one aspect of the case which some people had held on to in their argument that "Jenain was guilty in that he had used excessive force": the number of shots that he had fired from his sub-machine gun (21 shots). Plus "it was unjustified since Jenain's life was not at risk."

Let’s also look at it from this angle: How many shots constitute `reasonable’ and `too many’?.. 5, 10, 19?

And I beg to differ about the policemen’s lives “not being threatened at all” — what if they lost control of their vehicles? Or fail to avoid a lorry? They might also be thinking about others’ lives… the innocent bystanders who stand a real risk of being hit by any of the vehicles in the chase.

Despite the hour, that was city road “with enough traffic”. Each second these vehicles move at high speed, there’s the risk of something ugly happening to someone uninvolved — one Securicor jaga might be on his way home on a 100 cc Honda Cup after a dull day struggling to support his family. Suddenly, he hears sirens from behind and sees headlight reflections…and one car clips his bike from behind and gets thrown off. It might be fatal… Consider that the police might be trying be trying to prevent such things from happening. Or, must a perpetrator’s safety and well-being be the prime consideration?

When you drive today, look at the tyres of the Proton Iswara in front… from 10 metres or whatever, and at speed, how many shots do you think you’s need to hit the target? You’ll see how small the target is — the only people who can hit it with no more than 3 are Clint Eastwood and Chow Yuen Fatt. The shooter might have set it to automatic which lets off a burst; giving him a better chance that one might hit the tyre.

But when it does get hit, based on the sparks, the car still sped on. The driver clearly didn’t want to be caught… “What had he done; what’s he hiding?? Must be something serious”, would be the logical though. So, he goes for the other tyre… and one shot’s trajectory was towards the driver. Whether intentional or not, we certainly don’t know.

Imagine this possible scenario: it wasn’t Aminul and his friend but two people with eight convictions that include for violent crime. And they had just robbed a family, plus raped a woman inside, and were on their way for more of the same. This time, the police only gave chase and didn’t shoot because they weren’t 100% sure. The cretins got away. And committed another crime in another part of the city a couple of hours later.

Only later do the police know about the deeds committed… and so do the media. Guess what the public would scream: “The police had guns… the car didn’t stop – WHY DIDN’T THEY SHOOT when there was just cause to do so?!…violent creatures were allowed to escape, and commit another crime! We can’t hope for the police to protect us, useless oafs!”

The Aminul case is tragic, but if we are keen to place the blame on someone, let’s be fair and not look at the police only. This will be unpopular with some, but shouldn’t the car’s owner be held responsible too… for allowing it to be used by someone whom s/he knows didn’t have a license. This wouldn’t have happened had (1) Aminul didn’t have access to the car (2) Aminul had stopped. But he chose to take the risk to try shake off the police.

The only thing that I'm relieved about from today's court session is that Kopral Jenain has been allowed bail pending his appeal to a higher court. As in the words of someone at Twitter, "Kopral Jenain was an unfortunate victim of circumstances". To me at least, Kopral Jenain shouldn't be found guilty of anything... he shouldn't have to spend even one day in prison.

Sime Darby - E&O: What's the REAL deal?

Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O) was previously just another one of those stocks in the corner of Bursa Malaysia that failed to gain much interest among punters and the media.

But not anymore: in just a couple of weeks, E&O has turned into the hottest corporate story, thanks in large part to the involvement of conglomerate Sime Darby. Unfortunately, a lot of the talk has a negative air to them; including murmurings of the abuse of position, insider trading and conflicts of interest in the deal. And that's not counting the business aspects of the deal yet, for many analysts question the rationale behind Sime Darby's latest foray into the merger and acquisition (M&A) game.

To recap, it all started when both E&O and Sime Darby announced on Aug 29 that the latter - which is the third biggest company in Bursa Malaysia in terms of market capitalisation - would be acquiring a 30 percent stake in the company. The vendors of the block of E&O shares are its managing director and founding member, Datuk Tham Ka Hon, Tan Sri Wan Azmi Hamzah who was formerly of Land and General fame and Singapore-listed GK Goh Holdings. The agreed price is at RM2.30 per share and the deal is to be completed this Friday.

A lot of questions are being asked about the deal and the personalities involved. The Another Brick in the Wallblog, which is maintained by a blogger who wished to be identified only as "A Voice", raised some of them in the post of SDarby purchase in E&O: Strange buy and controversial figure:

*Why did Sime Darby - the more established player in property development - forgoing management control when it has become the biggest shareholder... and having paid a premium at that?
*According to shareholder changes filed with Bursa Malaysia, substantial shareholder GK Goh Holdings Limited had bought 1.25 million E&O shares while the latter's chairman, Datuk Azizan Abdul Rahman acquired 100,000 shares just prior to the announcement of the Sime Darby acquisition. "Is that legal, or more precisely ethical, for the company's chairman - who is also the husband to the Securities Commission (SC), Tan Sri Zarinah Anwar - to buy before a major corporate announcement?"

Another critic of the deal and the personalities and circumstances surrounding is the blogger "Big Dog". In his post of Smelling a rat, Big Dog said the Securities Commission "should be looking into this probable insider trading since ECM Libra already got its footing in a few months ago."

However, he added that, "then again if the deal is about the involvement of ECM Libra, it is doubtful that SC under Zarinah would actually do anything. Selective prosecution had always been the SC practice under her. For the record, in her first month in SC she ‘closed one eye’ and allowed the shoddy deal of ECM Libra taking over Avenue Capital which involved then Prime-Minister’s-son-in-law Khairy Jamamuddin five and a half years ago."

There is a lot more to this than merely a normal, straight-forward business transaction where, in a move to expand further, a local giant buys into a smaller company to synergise. Since it involves a Government-Linked Company (GLC), public money is involved. And that means OUR money. Stay tuned for more.

Balik Kampung Rush: Help RTD by `Snapping' Emergency Lane Abusers

No posts about Anwar Ibrahim, Male Y, Omega or politics today, folks. Nor any self-entertainment by picking on blogosphere cretins (yeah, I know they'd say that refers to me). Just something that's for our common good: let's pick on the cretins on the roads - those selfish and arrogant emergency lane abusers and queue jumpers.

PUTRAJAYA: Road users who are sick and tired of irresponsible drivers abusing emergency lanes on highways can now help the authorities take action against them.

Road Transport Department deputy director-general Datuk Ismail Ahmad said the public could email complaints against stubborn drivers using two addresses: aduan@jpj.gov.my and aduantraf ik@jpj.gov.my “RTD and police officers alone cannot patrol the entire length of all highways in the country, so we now call on the public to help us nab these unscrupulous drivers,” he told the New Straits Times.
“We will investigate the submitted complaints.
All road users have to do is to snap a picture of those abusing emergency lanes, showing the car model and registration plate and email the images.
Ismail said it was the passengers, and not drivers, who should be the ones taking the photographs as the drivers should concentrate on the road.

If they are found to have abused the emergency lanes, they will be issued a summons.

“I wish to remind the public that if the lanes are clogged up, the lives of those involved in accidents are in great risk if the medical teams cannot reach them in time.” The rampant abuse of emergency lanes has also cause accidents.

In 2009, 230 accidents occurred on the North-South Expressway’s emergency lanes.

“These accidents involved drivers who stopped their cars on the lanes for whatever purpose, or those who used it to cut queues during traffic jams,” said Ismail.

The number of accidents rose to 288 last year, a 25 per cent increase.

The misuse of emergency lanes is classified a “category 1” critical offense.

Offenders are liable to a RM300 fine.

Is Rocky Bru leading a media onslaught against Najib? Are Hishamudin Hussein and Muhyidin Yasin ganging up to push him out? And whatever else. What's my take on these?

At this moment, I don't really care. But what I do care right now is when anonymous cowards make malicious attacks that are often also vicious and personal. That's especially so when these are against friends. And to me at least, Rocky is a friend: a decent guy who is most likely a much better person than those hurling these accusations and insinuations.

If you regularly follow his blog, and the cultured and gentlemanly manner in which he responds to the various comments, you should already have realised this, of course. And if you have been reading this blog, you should also know that `cultured' and `gentlemanly' aren't the way that I would reply to nasty comments - not here, not elsewhere. No apologies about that: if some cretins want to engage at gutter level, that's where I'll go down too.

Have a look at the readers' comments here: Rocky to lead media onslaught against Najib? (plus the blogger's inaction: to me, silence means consent; simple as that). And Ada Batu (Rocky) Dalam Selimut; at the content, tone and the accusations and insinuations that reek out of the writers. By the way, `Rocky' isn't `batu' lah, ngok!

Let's see what these people are: I'll go into the content of the posts later. This `Cat in the Bag' claims to be this:
"I am the civil servant in Putrajaya, the consultant in PMO, the fly on the wall everywhere…"

Really ah? With a direct line to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and from Harvard to boot probably. But one thing is for sure: this is someone with a grudge against Rocky; someone seething with resentment. Plus something else, based on this:
"Rockybru, the self-proclaimed tai ko of SoPo bloggers organised a full on assault against sleepyhead," the cretin writes.

LIAR; for anyone who follows the SoPo blogosphere can tell you that Rocky had never proclaimed himself as the said tai ko. It is the bloggers - or at least many of them - who acknowledge him as such. And it is this that creates the jealousy and resentment among those who do want to be the tai ko. Unfortunately, they simply just don't cut it.

If s/he had lied about this one, you can bet that there are other lies and half-truths elsewhere. And "old newspaperman" Uppercaise chooses to use someone of this level of credibility as a source against a fellow journalist! Therefore, is it wrong to assume that the blogger (and similar) aren't really after the truth... that they'd focus on something only because it might help towards the ultimate goal: replacing the Umno-led BN with a new government where it is the DAP that calls the shots? Like in Penang and Selangor, and Perak too once?

Ah, the bile in some people! Here's an example from someone called "charleskiwi":

"If you are writing a blog don’t even attempt calling the shenanigan Mahathir for what he really is, a pariah or the grand son of a pariah, the posting will be deleted for certain. A sad day really it is for true journalism especially with a journalist like Rocky around that is if you can call him a journalist at all. He is really Satan in disguise !"

Notice these cowards: they never dare to use their real names - or their usual Blogger/Wordpress profiles - when they show themselves for what they really are. I can accept that many people wish to remain anonymous when online. However, I detest the deceitful double-faced kind: when in public, they'd put on an act of being "open and fair minded", "polite", "cultured and intellectual". But when hidden, their true selves are revealed.

Here is another comment from the typical cretin: "There are prositutes, and there are prostitutes. And of course, the mother of all prostitutes – Rocky." -- [Dei, check your spelling before sending!] People tend to unwittingly reflect themselves when they make abusive comments against others. This imbecile keeps on repeating himself all over blogosphere, including at Rocky's blog. A political prostitute: this is what this imbecile and cretins like charleswiki secretly wish they could be . But they are only of the "Lorong Haji Taib" category for they don't have it: someone with the skills, networking reach and depth, highly respected status and wielding a lot of influence among peers and the public... something that Rocky is. And they resent this.

As for the content as alleged by Catty, and insinuated by Uppercaise: it's not a secret that Rocky is planning to launch an online news portal for he had mentioned it at his blog/s on various occasions. So where's the "revelation" and "exposure" by these bloggers? And this alleged and insinuated plot against Najib: it is simply based on their imagination - creating things out of thin air with the intention to forment suspicion and hate. Which means those who say so are either one or the other of the following: mistaken at best, or... LIARS. Well, so much for "neutrality", "apolitical", "fair-minded" and similar chest-thumping.

Why not hear it from Rocky himself for only he would know. If and when he does, then readers should re-read those blogs again and evaluate: are those bloggers worthy of being trusted again? Or do they, as so often, have and are an Udang di sebalik batu?

Rocky (`Batu'?) Bru: Why So Scared, Cowardly and Dengki?

Socio-Political (SoPo) blogs and bloggers are a dime a dozen. Or, when converted locally, something like tiga amah for a majlis perbandaran Pasir Mas lorry-load.

If you want to know who the really influential ones are¹, here's an easy way to find out: how venomous, frequent and widespread the attacks against him² are. If you have been following the SoPo blogosphere, the person high up on this list – if not at the very top - is someone called Rocky Bru.

¹as opposed to the perasae nak mampuh who might have some hits and `followers' but aren't much of a factor. Cuma banyak bising aje… like Mat Cendana HAHA!
²or, to make it politically correct, `her'. Sigh…

Why all these attacks against him? As I had said earlier, that’s because he’s one of the most influential and most respected SoPo bloggers in Malaysia… and they couldn’t get him as an underling to help their cause. And their cause is simply this one: to overthrow Umno and BN and bring the DAP-led Pakatan Rakyat to power.

There’s also that factor which is as old as mankind itself: plain old hasad dengki. There are bloggers and there are bloggers; and some people just can’t accept the fact that they aren’t at the same level as where Rocky is. Most likely they won’t ever be – unless if they evolve and live to be 150.

To the hasad dengki bloggers: better start the evolution process right now or you’ll miss the train!

Here are a few recent examples of people with grudges and resentment against Rocky. I could easily use the more venomous posts but for today I’ll show you something from people who try to project themselves as “neutral”. They’d also try to make out as if they are “objective” and “fair-minded”. BUT, try as they might, you’ll always see them for what they are based on the clues.

“Rocky to lead media onslaught against Najib?”, writes the blog, Uppercaise. Now this is “the hobby site of an old newspaperman” and whatever else. Now, the question mark indicates that the post “isn’t an accusation” but “a question; a poser… intellectual discussion” etc. Sly!:-)

But in the post (and in some of the previous posts too), there are clear indications that this is someone with a grudge and harbours resentment against Rocky. See this, for instance: “He made a loudly proclaimed return to the Malay Mail where he had once worked (and supervised its collapse as a free afternoon paper)…”

The latter is debatable and definitely questionable for there is a lot to say about it. But that’s for another time and it’s not an issue here. What I’m showing is an example of how something festering inside someone would inevitably leak out.

Anyway, let’s get back to the title of the post – Uppercaise has speculated that there is a plot against Najib, and his source is from Cat Out of the Bag or whatever. Now this is a new and obscure blog whose writer’s claimed credentials are definitely questionable (unless you’re the gullible and naive type who believes everything that’s written at blogs. Or wherever, for that matter)…

But “an old newspaperman” feels it is credible enough to be used as a source. Nothing wrong with that, of course. But it raises some questions, like “What’s the connection between Catty and Uppercaise?” Would it be wrong to presume that it’s one Pakatan Rakyat guy helping another, among other questions?

“And what is wrong with that?!”, you might ask. Nothing… just that I loath people who claim to be “neutral”, “insiders” and whatever else BUT AREN’T. No lofty slogans with me, please; and thinking that you are better than others… just because you support the opposition. No Journalism from the Kepala Lutut, please – Just write lah.

MURTADdotCon: Why is the Damansara Utama Methodist Church Running Away?

That matter about the Jais `raid' which the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) had raged about: well, after all the fire and brimstone raised and accusations hurled; and having played the part of `victim', it has called off the scheduled meeting with PAS today.

The church came up with reasons that are both vague and intriguing: because "there have been recent developments", and that "the case is sensitive in nature" ...

... which don't explain anything.

What "recent developments"? And why, only now, pleading that the matter "is sensitive" when it had previously thrown various accusations against Jais and making insinuations against Muslims in Malaysia? No, we cannot now sweep this under the carpet for it involves fundamental questions about Article 11 of the Constitution.

You should remember last week as to how big a furore the church - and its supporters - had raised about this purported "Jais raid". Based on the one-sided and slanted reports, it would appear as if the church and those present were "the victims of Muslim fanatics". And many were quick to condemn Jais without bothering to check out the facts first. Including Muslims.

Guano nih: Benchi sangat dah ko, ke sesamo Islae, punya KUAT defend gerejo, kutuk Jais? If this is "fanaticism", as claimed by the DUMC supporters, then Prophet Muhammad and Saidina Abu Bakar - who had waged war against the murtad - were fanatics too. If so, then it's a label that we should proudly wear.

It is also unfortunate that some PAS politicians are more keen to gain some popularity among DUMC's supporters than to fight for Islam. Instead of addressing the murtad question, PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali instead accuses Umno of having a hand in the Jais raid! Well, so much for the "Perlembagaan PAS adalah Al-Quran dan Hadis", "Kami memperjuangkan Islam" claims: if you don't care about Muslims turning murtad, then just stuff this big talk up your ar*e lah, Mustafa.

All the while, the church and its supporters were keen to focus on only one thing: "that Jais had raided the church"; that Jais "had intruded into the Thanksgiving dinner and interrupted the programme". But the most pertinent questions are wilfully ignored; including: Was the church involved in prostelysation activities? YES OR NO?

But DUMC and its supporters (including some Muslims) keep on going round the bush. DUMC's senior pastor Daniel Ho says:

"As Christians, the Bible commands the community of faith to walk humbly, to seek justice and to do good. DUMC mantains that in all our community work, we seek to practice our faith and to serve the community around us as Christ commands us to do, regardless of creed, race, and religion"

SIGH! Tak faham soalan atau sengaja buat tak faham?! Are you involved in prostelysation activities?... activities that result in Muslims converting to another religion?? Based on this pathetic attempt to putar belit, it's reasonable to assume that the answer is YES.

So where is Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim? Last week, upon hearing about this matter, Khalid had... apologised to the church. WHY and FOR WHAT?! If DUMC is indeed involved in such activities, then who should be apologising to whom?

He had also ordered Jais to come up with a report to justify the raid. Well, Jais promptly did. So why is Khalid keeping quiet about it now after being so keen in wanting to know why? Not only that - Khalid had also issued a gag order. What is he trying to hide?

The planned dialogue between PAS and DUMC would have helped to clear up the crucial questions. But the latter's decision to call it off is a clear indication of one thing: that it is trying to lie low and wait for the storm to blow out. And coming out again when the coast is clear, with "business as usual". Are Muslims and Malaysians who care about law and order going to allow DUMC to get away with it... AGAIN?

Tok Guru `Boleh Jalan Lah'!

No, this isn't my being contemptuous or insulting towards the world's most famous Tok Guru. Really;-)
"Tok Guru boleh jalan lah!" shouldn't¹ be interpreted as "Tok Guru can stuff it!". The Oxford English translation is: "Tok Guru gets a road-lah! Wow!"

Well, `lah' isn't recognised and approved by Oxford - yet. But if we Malaysians insist on using it, then maybe one day even the Queen of England (who is a regular reader of this blog) might start punctuating her sentences with `lah'!
¹shouldn't -- but then, who am I to stop you all from interpreting it as such. --- Korang tengok: sikit punya standard blog ni ye, siap ada footnotes:-)

Back to this Tok Guru matter: one of my pet hates is when well established names of places are changed. This is especially so when the new name is of a person, particularly of a living person. It doesn't matter which government is doing it: BN or Pakatan Rakyat - when you change the name for no real good reason, I get resentful and suspicious.

This renaming of Jalan Pengkalan Chepa in Kota Bharu to Jalan Tok Guru: WHY and WHAT THE HECK FOR?!

To add to this, Nik Abdul Aziz's coy and rather evasive response to the uproar that erupted from this totally unnecessary change raises a few disturbing questions about the Kelantan government and its long-serving Menteri Besar. Among them is the transformation of people who once were "fighting to propogate Islam"... to slick, nouveau rich, fat-cat politicians -- people who are now not much better than those they had replaced in 1990.

This is yet another embodiment of George Orwell's Animal Farm in the making, with one addition: the Kelantan version also manipulates Islam for its own benefit.

The pompous and arbitrary move to rename roads in Kelantan - this road especially - is a demonstration of what PAS, the Kelantan government and its Menteri Besar have become. After 21 years in power, they are no longer the defenders of the oppressed... not by a long shot.

Most probably it wasn't Nik Aziz himself who had moved for the change: as usual, it's one of the many Kaki Bodek & Ampu in the local council or state government out to score points for himself by showing some slavish devotion to the state's Number One.

But Nik Aziz should have stepped in and killed off this toady's manoeuvring by saying "No, thank you." Instead, see how Nik Aziz tries to justify the rename: The New Straits Times reports that Nik Aziz said "the new name was chosen because he wanted to revive the role of the religious teachers or tok guru whose presence had been limited to their pondoks or religious schools."
Aww, now isn't that nice: Nik Aziz wants so badly to honour all religious teachers! But the problem is, in Kelantan and Malaysia, the name has become synonymous with... Nik Aziz. And he knows it too.

"If I had wanted to boost my image, I would have named the street as Jalan Nik Aziz or I could have named it for the road in front of my house, but I didn't"

No, he didn't... because that would have been too obvious, wouldn't it? But Jalan Tok Guru (Nik Aziz): with this one, Nik Aziz can have his cake and eat it too.

Tanda Nak Kiamat: DAP Chauvinists Extolling and Quoting A. Samad Said!

At least 99.86% of the DAP and Bersih supporters don't know anything about the works of poet and novelist A. Samad Said. Or even who he is, for that matter.

Ask Ralph Lauren Lim of Taman Ehsan, Kepong about Salina, Lantai T. Pinkie and other works in Malay literature and he'd come up with this scornful retort: "Gua talak mau tahu la itu l*nchau punya!"

But now, in their desperation to declare the rally a "big success", Ralph Lauren Lim and his buddies - who include Kelantan PAS Commissioner, Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat - have latched on to anything that they think might help to support their claim. Samad says (as in `Simon says'):

"I have never seen all the races in Malaysia so united in one cause before."

This, they think, is an endorsement of Bersih. BUT IT ISN'T! In fact, it is actually a damning thumbs-down of Bersih by Samad!

Now, literary and arty-farty figures like Samad aren't your ordinary everyday Mamat; what with their (sometimes put on) often eccentric and bizarre thoughts and behaviour. That's why they are kept isolated in universities and similar institutions - places where they will do the least amount of harm. Including to themselves.

Take a closer look at the statement and scrutinise it: for one thing, where is this unity of the races as mentioned by Samad? According to Wikipedia, Malays and other bumiputra groups make up 61% of the population. Let's have a look at the pictures of the demonstrators and see: there should be four non-Malays/bumiputras in any group of 10.

Have a look at other pictures and do the above test: Do you see this 60-40 ratio?

You don't? Then what was the ratio: 70-30? 80-30? 90-10?... or was it 95-5? Well, if the ratio wasn't right, then how could it ever be claimed that the races were united in one cause?!

The truth is, Samad was having a laugh at Bersih and Pakatan Rakyat's expense... he was being sarcastic; being ironic, being purposefully paradoxical. Either this or... Samad is a liar. Take your pick.

Anyway, back to Ralph Lauren Lim: How did he find the demonstration? Was he arrested? Was he tear-gassed?

Tok Guru Nik Aziz: So Scared of... Mat Cendana?

The Kelantan Menteri Besar of 21 years, the Ketua Dewan Ulamak... someone so learned, so powerful and so influential: how could it be that he can't bear to face ME!? It's unthinkable, although I'll admit it's also quite flattering in a way.

Yeah, I know some are rolling their eyes, sceptical about this. Especially the PAS taksub (a title like this popping up at places that include Kelantan Bloggers etc is sure to bring them to investigate: "Does Nik Aziz even know you?... Ini mesti kes perasan nak mampus!"

I don't know whether he knows me or not, but someone handling his profile at Facebook sure does. And since Nik Aziz has allowed the profile, posts and updates to be there, this implicit consent means he must also be accountable for whatever is done in his name.

Now, Nik Aziz has, at last count, 528,887 `Likes' there. Compare that to my (much, much) more modest number of Friends that stand at 284 (I wonder who will be the magical #287?).

Anyway, I've been following Nik Aziz's updates there for some months now. Occasionally, I would leave a comment, which tends to be against the grain of most of the others there. And doing that, of course, inevitably leads to many people replying with angry and sometimes nasty comments against me. But that's okay with me because I "can also take".

However, this has come to an end because I've just been blocked from commenting there. Why? The only reason I can think of is that my comments there rock "the Nik Aziz boat": Nik Aziz - or at least the administrator - wants the place to be filled with only the Yes men and women... people who will only support and agree to whatever is posted there. And Mat Cendana, a proud Knight of the Demi Negara Order (not to ever be mistaken with "Umno", please), isn't one who'd oblige.

Adding to this are the people who `Like' my comments: people who disagree with some of the posts and opinions but who are too scared to comment themselves for fear of being jumped on by the zealots.

Yes, Nik Aziz has the right to include or exclude whoever he wants... just as I and everyone else at Facebook could with our own profiles. However, this action has raised a few questions.

Among other things, it shows how autocratic and super-sensitive the PAS people are towards criticism and differences in opinion. And of people (like the admin) who are using Nik Aziz's stature, position and power for whatever agendas they harbour. These are the things that I will write about now and in the future so that people can see PAS and the hidden hands for whatever they really are.

Here are the posts and the comments that led to my being blocked (you'll have to right-click and open in a new tab to see the images in full):

My comment: "Nampak sangat orang Melayu diperkudakan oleh DAP. Yang dok hasut kat Facebook, Twitter, blogs orang-orang Cina... yang berarak, yang kena tangkap 95% Melayu. Bagus betul PAS ni: sedia berkorban lawan sesama Islam & Melayu untuk orang lain."

Writing something like this, of course, led to locusts descending, with the zealots angrily `hammering me':-P I must stress here that it wasn't my intention to provoke; although I knew many would be riled. I was just "being me; being Mat Cendana: Hack Writer". Whether this is `good' or `bad', I don't really know...

Then came this one:

My comment: "Ini belum disahkan lagi. Tapi Tok Guru begitu cepat tolong sebarkan dakwaan Surendran ni. Mengapa begitu mudah untuk jadi kuda orang lain? Mengapa suka sangat tolong orang lagakan sesama Melayu dan Islam ni?"

But this is the one that infuriated the Nik Aziz admin big time:

My comment: "Asalkan pakai kupiah, jubah, ada janggut, boleh quote ayat-ayat dan guna `Ana' sudah dikira sebagai `ulamak'?? Jelas bahawa Bersih ni perhimpunan politik - perhimpunan yang dihasut oleh orang-orang bukan Islam dan Melayu. Dan perhimpunan ni melanggar undang-undang. Bila kena tahan, apasal nak bising? Dah gatal sangat nak diperkudakan oleh DAP, duduk diam saja lah kat dalam lockup tu. Atau ANTA nak cuba menagih simpati."

Okay, it was harsh and it wasn't too polite. But what about equating "Umno" with "jahanam"? It wasn't by Nik Aziz himself, but he has to take responsibility since it was posted at his profile.

The blocking came when I couldn't comment at the post below. But that's okay because I can still paste it here at my blog:-)

My comment: "Really?? You mean it was 60% Malays 40% Non-Malays who attended?? Or was it 90% Malays? So how could it be that "all the races in Malaysia so united" as claimed? Waah: nampaknya Tok Guru pun sekarang ni dah jadi mouthpiece DAP ye. Update ni bunyi macam modal DAP dengan Bangsa Malaysia dia."

So here it is: someone with 529,062 Facebook followers (makin bertambah as I was writing this post) couldn't even face the points raised by one obscure guy from rural Pasir Mas (now in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya) who even has trouble reciting the Qunut during Subuh prayers! So how are the PAS people going to deal with the slick (and slimy) DAP if they were to govern Malaysia? Do the PAS people have the intelligence to do so? If they can't even handle Mat Cendana's comments and points, I doubt they ever could, simple as that.

*UPDATE 10/7/2011 8:54 AM - By the way, Haji Abdul Hadi Awang's Facebook profile has only 180,397 Likes; almost three times less than Nik Aziz's. But don't worry: as of two minutes ago, Mat Cendana is now also one of them;-)

Anwar Seriously Wounded! NATO to Launch Airstrike Against Malaysia!

See how badly injured Anwar Ibrahim is! What happened? Based on this picture and the expression on his face, it looked as if he was run down by a steam-roller!

The other possibility is... ini banyak BERLAKUN aje!

By the way, does that also mean Anwar won't be able to attend court next week to answer the sodomy charge against him? Of course he can't! How could anyone in this condition possibly be fit enough to do that! Sneaky Heheh! But to Anwar: This is modal lama laa. And for your own sake, please cut out the excessive over-acting. When you've done this once too often, people eventually catch on.

Let's also see another aspect of the socio-political scene that was inadvertently exposed by the events concerning Bersih. It's about PAS - the party that claims to fight for Islam but is shown to be a confused-cat organisation... a mere tool slickly exploited by the DAP.

But that's for later: I'm going to wash my wife's car first... in exchange for the great eggs, sausages and toast that she has whipped up for me:-)

**UPDATE 9/7/2011 7:40 PM -- I've been blocked from Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat's Facebook profile. The admin wants only the "Yes, setuju" and "You are so very great!" comments and not criticisms. Were my comments abusive? No, at the most, they were harsh. But don't worry: I'll publish them in a blog post later - judge them for yourselves.

This is essentially what PKR vice-president and MP for Batu (Batu apa?) Tian Chua has asked you all to do. Here is his call at Twitter:

To this, I say: "Use your head and not your kepala lutut, BINGAI" It's obvious that you are one of those suckers whom PKR assemblywoman for Bukit terLanjanG, Elizabeth Wong has conned into believing with this tweet:

"Tmrw we r not going as PKR, not PAS, not DAP, but as MALAYSIANS! Those who believe in a better Msia, support those out tmrw!"

Guess who will make up the vast majority of the Bersih 2.0 rally? Will it be a reflection of the national demographics - Bumiputeras 60% Non-Bumiputeras 40%? 70-30? 80-20?

NO, as usual, it will be the Melayu Bingai of PAS and PKR who will form at least 90% of the crowd. And, as usual, the non-Malays from the DAP and PKR agitate and provoke at the blogs and elsewhere in cyberspace... and stay safely away while the Melayu Bingai do their dirty work.

"Don't run", eh, as Tian Chua commands? Yeah, do that: do battle with the police, get hurt, get arrested... while their `brothers-in-arms' - safely at the sidelines - laugh yet again at how easy it is to get the Melayu Bingai to do their bidding. All thanks to the devious Melayu `leaders' in PKR and PAS... the voluntary baruah of the DAP who'd willingly sell Malays, Muslims and Malaysians just for a few seats more in parliament and the state assemblies.

KUALA LUMPUR, 16 JUNE, 2011: The opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today maintained his allegation that the sex video scandal involving him was planned by the top leadership of Umno.

According to the Permatang Pauh MP, the action of the authorities to provide protection to the Datuk T trio (Shazryl Eskay, Rahim Tamby Chik and Shuib Lazim) is enough to show that his allegation is true.

“Police still give protection (to Datuk T). This is the only country in the world where sex video distributed throughout the country and police do not know what action to be taken,” said Anwar in a press conference today.

“That is why I maintain that there are instructions from the Umno top leadership. Datuk T is only the tool. The person who actually responsible in planning it is the Umno leaders,” he added.

According to the PKR de Facto leader, police report was made and he is still waiting for the action from the police.

He also questioned the credibility of the police that took so long to take action against the individuals who is responsible for spreading the video. [MC: BUT he didn't also question why the police haven't revealed WHO the man in the video is. Apasal tak minat untuk tahu ye...]

“If the opposition is distributing the video, of course, the police will take immediate action. But because they have link with Umno leaders, they are free from any action,” said Anwar.

The DAP appear intoxicated - literally - by their winning 12 seats. In MalaysianInsider, the Sarawak DAP claimed: "we have broad-based support amongst Sarawak’s major ethnic communities", its chairman Wong Ho Leng said after polishing a full bottle of Chivas Regal bottle in celebration.

But they didn't forget their pals, PKR and PAS, who won three seats and a telur itik respectively.

It was reported by the Lempoyang News Agency that new Chief Minister-would-have-been, Baru Bien is suffering from severe depression; having carried out rehearsals for his swearing-in ceremony for the past few weeks.

PKR and PAS have slipped lower down the political rubbish chute, and this is something the DAP need to address if they want to continue using them for DAP's chauvinistic agenda.

The DAP know that PKR and PAS, who comprise mostly of Malays, are the type who can be `bodek/ampu/pong' into being frontline infantrymen and cannon fodder. It is imperative for the DAP to massage their ego and deceive them; that they continue to be deluded into thinking they are `the main component, the leader, crucial'. It had worked in Perak... before they were booted out.

Anwar must be prepared for the predictable question by reporters on why he is only mentioning about this now and didn't lodge a police report. As usual, he can blame it on "the police is controlled by Umno"; whatever that means:

"I suspected it's a conspiracy by Umno. If I had lodged a report, instead of taking action against the people responsible for drugging me, the police might charge me for using drugs... Nanti dia charge bawah seksyen 15 Akta Dadah Berbahaya, memasukkan dadah dalam tubuh sendiri, I kena masuk jail pulak. Dah la kes dengan coffeeboy tu tak selesai lagi - sakit sikit pun dah buat report, ngada-ngada betul!"

How to `Putarbelit' the Sex Video - FREE, Unsolicited Advice!

The "Perut Buncit Sex Video" has revealed one thing since it first surfaced: what a bunch of bumbling incompetents the Pakatan Rakyat leaders and supporters are with their pathetic attempts to deny!

But have no fear, Mat Cendana is here!®™ (Note that the sentence rhymes).
I feel bad about using him as my favourite `modal' here; so now I'm going to make amends by helping Anwar wriggle out of this mess (By the way, despite the title, "it doesn't have to be free..." Know what I mean? Tapi kalu dah cheapskate sangat tu, nak buat macamana.)

Firstly, Anwar should pretend to be calm and collected despite the noose tightening around his neck... and not losing his cool when a journalist asked him about the "kept by Wan Azizah Omega". Live Life Cool

What a mess Anwar has made! And the attempts by Wan Azizah to help her husband have actually resulted in the noose being further tightened... the "watch is in my possession", the "I have watched the video and it is not Anwar" etc etc. Anwar needs a pro (bukan `gro' ye) to help him, and that's ME (Slot angkat bakul sendiri).

The Sex Video -- It's no use denying his part in it anymore. That short clip posted on YouTube: if you've seen it, at the very best (or "worse", depending on which side you're on), you can only say "It bears a very striking resemblance to Anwar, BUT isn't him". Unfortunately, there aren't too many people who look like him, so that means.... So, "Anwar has to make lemonade from what he has now"; and I'm going to help him with that! (Eh, TEPUK lah sikit, aku jadi hero ni!)

Putar #1 -- "What is wrong with Anwar having sex with his own wife?!"

"HUH?? But the woman in the video isn't Wan Azizah!", you might say.
No, she isn't... that is Anwar's second wife.

Anwar will hold a press conference to announce that the `perut buncit' is indeed him. And then make this sensational revelation:

"Her name is Yew So Syiok @ Nurul Anggun Mekar Kembang Abdullah from Guangdong, China. She was involved in immoral activities and I, being a former ABIM president who is very warak, wanted to save her. I berjaya dakwah dia...convert 20 Feb, kahwin hari sama di Sungai Golok...21 Feb balik honeymoon di Malaysia. BEST jugak Heheh!"

Now, Anwar has to be prepared for the pesky questions... things like the Surat Nikah etc:

"Unfortunately, I lost it. Semasa nak menyeberang balik ke Rantau Panjang, I sewa sampan. Tiba-tiba jadi tsunami; surat nikah tu hanyut. Nasib baik I selamat. Tak sempat nak mintak another copy sebab tak sabar nak balik KL. Maklum lah baru-baru kahwin ni kan HAHA!" (Kena buat joke sikit, baru lah ada `ice-breaking' dengan wartawan)

Ahmad Sarbani: Is Suicide Impossible?

This taboo subject of suicide: it's a post that I would not have written had it not been for the comments at some sites and blogs... prejudiced, one-sided comments that refuse to consider all the possibilities. Instead, many are bent on placing the blame on "the government/MACC/BN/Umno..."

It had started with one item at MalaysianInsider ... the comments especially. And then there's another one at a site called Pink Turtle. The following is an edited version to what I had written at both sites, plus at this item in The Malay Mail.

It's obvious that many here are using pure emotions and prejudice instead of facts... especially the political zealots who want to believe that the BN/Umno are responsible for this. Try using your head instead of your kepala lutut.

Look inside your self and see how sincere you are about things. All this while, the Pakatan type have been screaming about "Corruption"... about "the government/MACC not doing anything". Well, now that the MACC appears to have broken a Customs/forwarding agents syndicate that had denied the country revenue amounting to MILLIONS, and possibly as much as a billion ringgit, the same hypocrites are now screaming about "the evil MACC and their oppressive methods"!

I don't know how the Customs officer had died. But then, neither do the others here. And since many/most are placing the blame on the MACC (solely because the incident happened at its premises), perhaps someone should provide some sort of balance here, unpopular that it may be (see whether I care about the thumbs down).

Had it not occured to you that it could be a suicide? "And why would he do that?!", some might scream. Firstly, try to come up with a reason why someone at MACC would want to kill him (as the DAP/Pakatan types want to believe was what had happened to Teoh Boon Hock). There's no reason for the MACC to do so. But what about an outside party... someone who was afraid the officer's statement whould drag them down? It's possible. BUT the killing would have taken place ELSEWHERE...unless you've seen too many conspiracy theory movies where a witness was killed by a hitman just before he spilled the beans. Or, (this is more sensational) by an insider... someone at the MACC.

But this one is more likely: it was suicide. [I must stress here that I'm NOT saying it really is suicide... just speculating with whatever facts are made publicly known, to counter those who are blaming it "on the government/MACC]

Note his mode of transport - #Why did he go there on a motorcycle and not by car? (He had three cars, as reported in the newspapers) Okay, you can argue "Because of the traffic jam". Maybe. But why not this one: He had planned to die there?... and he didn't want his car to be impounded (and thus denying his family its use). This could well happen since the authorities might decide to withold the vehicle as evidence. It could be a few years before the vehicle is released.

#"Why would he do that?" (this speculation of suicide) -- Try putting yourself in his shoes - he's a senior officer, with DECADES of service, with status, with a family: how would you feel when you're charged in court for corruption in such a BIG case involving millions of ringgit? Your world comes tumbling down. People are going to look at you and your family with jaundiced eyes (Never mind if so many expressed "Sympathy", "Condolences", "Takziah", "Sokongan moral" or whatever - behind you, many will smirk; coming up with all sorts of malicious comments).

And what about his statement to the MACC? Don't discount the fact that he might have implicated "others"... his fellow Customs officers, forwarding agents etc. And he felt very bad about it; about everything. It was reported that this was the reason why he had gone to the MACC office that morning - to give another statement. What was wrong with his previous one??

Consider this one, cynical that it may be: At the time before his death, he was a suspect - he was arrested, had his statement taken and released on bail. But one "is innocent until proven guilty". He may or may not have been guilty but with death, he will never be charged. [NOTE: In my comment at MalaysianInsider, I had mistakenly mentioned that he "was charged". He wasn't. However, regardless of this error, the essence remains]

#"Why there (the speculated suicide) and not elsewhere?" -- Haa, yang part ni ramai yang tak mahu terima theory suicide; semata-mata kerana "banyak tempat lain"?? Mengapa nak buat di tempat lain? I believe this is one way of "getting back at the MACC". He might be innocent. Or he might be guilty. But whatever, he was tormented by the case. And he might have resentment against the MACC "for bringing onto him all this trouble." And he knows that based on Teoh Boon Hock's case, the MACC will be under the very harsh spotlights when a death occured at its premises. IF it was a suicide, that was the Customs officer's final act of revenge against the MACC.

The main essence is this: he was implicated in this big swoop by the MACC (which isn't to be interpreted to automatically mean that he is guilty). Yang ni tak ada siapa boleh nafikan. I believe the statement that he had given is key to the unfortunate incident at the MACC premises... that he might have regretted mentioning something/someone in it.

This is just speculation, of course; and I would not have gone into this had it not been for the inane and prejudiced comments here and elsewhere. Guilt could be a main factor. But I feel it's a combination: besides the guilt of being involved (if it was indeed so), there's also the very real possibility of him having implicated others... his "fellow comrades". The MACC might have struck a deal with him - that he would go free if he spilled the beans... which he might have (we'll only know this if we can see his statement).

That morning: he didn't have an appointment with the MACC but went there on his own accord. It is said that he wanted to change his statement. This shows that he must have regretted something. What was it? The MACC was willing to oblige; and it was for this reason that he was left alone (the MACC officer went out to look for his file. It's against procedures, and a few are now suspended. But is it such an `evil' act by the MACC; to leave him - someone who had come on his own accord?)

Anyway, the deceased would also have known that, regardless of his new statement, the previous one might still stand... and the one that the MACC will use to prosecute (the deceased or/and others). The guilt, the despair, plus rage and resentment towards the MACC for "creating all the trouble"... it is definitely conceivable that he would have wanted to "put an end to this", plus "to protest and strike back against the MACC".

Not happy with what I think happened? Well, what do you think?

EXPOSED! DAP's `Expert Pathologist' Dr Pornthip is a Serial `Kaki Autar'!

The DAP's "emotions and sentiments" trump card in the grand plan to stir up and sustain hatred through the Teoh Boon Hock case is falling apart.

The credibility of Thai pathologist, Dr Pornthip Rojanasunan - which previously was already questionable - is now close to zero after it was revealed that she is a serial kaki autar.

At the Royal Commission of Inquiry hearing last Friday, Pornthip was forced to admit that she was being investigated by the Medical Board of Thailand for manufacturing evidence.

So what did Pornthip do? In the case of a Thai millionaire who was found dead, the initial autopsy showed that the deceased had killed himself. Enter Dr Pornthip Rojanasunan, the real life CSI: Bangkok; the crusader of truth and justice. Backed by her `unique expertise and knowledge', Pornthip made a different autopsy report; claiming that the millionaire was murdered. As a result of her insistence, the millionaire's brother was arrested and charged for his murder. Sensational stuff!

However, a third autopsy which comprised of 11 pathologists from different countries concluded that the first autopsy had been right after all: the deceased had killed himself. And that his brother was wrongfully charged, thanks to Dr Pornthip's sensational conclusion.

And Pornthip isn't content to be just a manufacturer of evidence - she's now also an exporter of it; brought in by the DAP as a devious tool to manipulate Teoh's unfortunate death into a major "suspect, accuse & hate the government (and BN. And Umno. And Malays...)" weapon.

So this is the `star witness and expert' whose conclusions form the very basis to what the DAP want the public to believe: that Teoh was murdered. It is now becoming even clearer that her credibility as a pathologist is rather doubtful given that her level of expertise in this field was brought into the open and contradicted by no less than 11 other professionals.

"Teoh was strangled and then thrown out of the window...", says Dr Pornthip. Sensational! And conveniently too for the DAP, for that's something to manipulate the masses with (Since it was at the MACC's office, then it follows that they must have done that. Never mind that it doesn't make any sense for them to do so. Nor the fact that Teoh was free to go anywhere during the time of his death.)

Is this conclusion by Pornthip - which forms the very foundation to the DAP's accusation of murder - as `accurate' and as `reliable' as her other findings that had resulted in one man being charged for his brother's death?

*UPDATE 3/4/2011: DAP and similar anti-BN types obstinately insist that Teoh was murdered. BN and anti-DAP types insist he committed suicide. So who is right? And are these the only possibilities; either one or the other?

Things like this have happened before - among others, there was one incident where a fishing boat's crew member suddenly ran down the moving boat at night and jumped into the sea. This was witnessed by his shocked mates. Fortunately, he lived to tell the tale (else the others might come under suspicion of being responsible for his disappearance) - he was found alive on a small reef the following morning. He sheepishly confessed that he was living out a nightmare where "he was fleeing someone who wanted to kill him."

The Oppressed Christians and Apartheid in Malaysia

This image, this post and the previous one of Christians in Malaysia: Oppressed, Suppressed, Persecuted and Crucified -- they are `so unlike Mat Cendana', ya? So, what's going on here?

This is new territory to me. "Someone else's religion" and "someone else's race and culture": these are topics that I had consistently avoided ever since I was on the Internet from October 1998.

In all those 13 years (minus some `lost years' when I wasn't online), I had often come across malicious and deceitful attacks against Malays and Islam. Almost always - then and until now - these were written by those too cowardly to reveal their names. Or worse, they might usurp a specific name with the deceitful intention of giving the impression that they are of a certain race and religion.

Anyway, personally, no matter how bad the dastardly attacks and insults against my race and religion were, I'm proud (yes, proud) to say that I had never done the same against any race or religion.

Sure, some detractor here might snort: "It's just your word. Who knows what you had written against others..." That's very easy to resolve: Just come up with one sentence where I had written something malicious against another race or religion. If you can (and the whole thing is pasted here; not selective sentences that are out of context), then I will delete this blog and slither away in shame.

Contrary to what some might think, I'm not `anonymous'. Although "Cendana" isn't my IC name, there are many people who know me. And if you really want to know that, you can do so easily enough. Seriously, anyone with average IQ will know that with just three phone calls/emails, at the most, "to specific people". And with that, you can dig up a lot of dirt about me. But, unfortunately, there aren't any skeletons in the closet: they're out in the open - and buried - at "the other blog".

By the way, "Mat/Ahmad Cendana" is not a pseudonym but my pen-name and my identity. No, I'm not like some people who live a double life ... pretending to be something positive/honourable while in public (left/top) but showing what s/he really is when hiding behind the curtain of anonymity on the internet (right).

Okay, habis selingan & pesanan penaja, and back to the earlier matter of why I was hesitant to write about things that might hurt the feelings of other races and religions. The reason, honestly, is simply this: I don't want to hurt or even slight others; hoping that others will hold the same attitude.

I don't want to be like those who'd often claim "they have many friends who are Malays and Muslims" ... and then hurl unfair remarks and conclusions that are negative. No, I don't have many friends who are Christians and of other races (Actually, I don't have many friends, period. But that's another story).

However, I "have enough" ... two people whom I regard highly: Brigitte Rozario of The Star, who is the portal head of the ParenThots website, and an American whom I'll name as just "David". They are always foremost in my mind when I do; not wanting to inadvertently write anything that might somehow offend them, even slightly. And the surest way is to not write about it at all. So it was...

There's also another major reason: I don't really know nuts about religion.

But events - and one person particularly - have combined to impel me "to do something". This person is the "Space Monkey from Uranus", satD aka Sat Bin Dee. Even if I don't know too much about religion, there's something that I do know very well - the ability to read and understand. And this is where satD and others that include Jebat Must Die (JMD) etc come in and have become big influences. For the good, hopefully:-P

No, I'm not going to articulate on the finer points concerning the issues. That's because I would only be repeating what satD and JMD have clearly stated in their posts.

Instead, I want to just declare this, for I'm not among the forked tongue who'd smile and speak oh-so-sweetly... while hiding a knife behind their backs. With me, all the cards are open and on the table. Call me naive and unsophisticated if you want. And you are probably right. But that's how I am, good or bad.

So what am I declaring here? Something similar to that of October 2008 when I left the party and people whom I had staunchly supported for 25 years ... all because of the fact that I couldn't contradict fundamental issues and points articulated by Tengku KijangMas and the Demi Negara Community.

So, to satD, Jebat Must Die and others who share similar views, hopes and ideals: I'm with you, body and soul.

Christians in Malaysia: Oppressed, Suppressed, Persecuted and on the Verge of 21st Century Crucifixion

Christians in Malaysia are at crossroads. They now live in fear, knowing they are being pushed inexorably towards the abyss of death and destruction due to the religion of their choice.

Being among the minority - making up just 10% of the population - they have long been suppressed from practising their religion; continuously oppressed by the intolerant Muslim majority.

And things have now gotten worse for the Christians: they are now being openly persecuted. If the outside world fails to intervene, the crucifixions that started in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago – and continued by the Romans for 300 years until the reign of Constantine - look set to happen again in Malaysia.

Scene at Stadium Shah Alam in the very near future if the world doesn’t intervene to overthrow the bigotry-influenced government!

In this country, there exists a shadowy but extremely powerful and influential group of hardline Muslim extremists, whose writings provoke their religious brethren who make up 60% of Malaysia’s population.

It is believed that these intellectuals are also part of another group known as “The Demi Negara Community”: a blog that was started in 2008 by an ultra-nationalist member of the Kelantan-Patani royalty, Tengku KijangMas.

(Editor’s Note: The above blogger of KijangMas, together with a Malay right-wing writer, Jebat Must Die, were largely responsible for giving fresh and accurate perspective, direction, strength and unity to a horde of nationalistic Malaysians who were disheartened and confused by the March 2008 General Elections.

A significant chunk of the Malaysian Socio-Political blogosphere, which then was almost entirely controlled by writers aligned to Pakatan Rakyat, was seized and became a beachhead that saw an influx of previously-timid nationalistic and patriotic bloggers who are now able to take on the might of the Pakatan Rakyat writers.)

Among the most dangerous of this shadowy group is satD aka Sat Bin Dee who runs the blog of Pure Shiite (In an exclusive interview, it was revealed to this writer that this is not about the Iran `mazhab).

The main danger posed to satD’s enemies is this obvious fact: that they are dealing with someone of an extremely formidable intellect, courageous and has the ability to crystalise and articulate his thoughts and arguments in a most hypnotising way.

One of his detractors, who requested not to be identified, warned: “satD is the writing equivalent of Adolf Hitler, and is just as dangerous! He must be stopped!”

It was satD who had warned Muslims and Malaysians of “an agenda in the air”; having the ability to see things and permutations that most others were not aware of.

Among his posts are his point-blank questions in: Christian Federation of Malaysia: What is your game plan? As a result, whatever subtle plans the federation has, are now in jeopardy.

Their hope for satD and the questions to quieten down so that they can stealthily move on with the game plan is shattered. This is because satD comes up with yet another razor-sharp analysis titled Flirting with Disaster: An Analysis on the Demand for Religious Freedom in Malaysia.

(Mat Cendana is a Malay-Muslim who tries very hard to be accepted and praised by non-Malays and non-Muslims. He is willing to sell the Malays and Muslims, and would “kembae lubae idong, berair jubor tahik" when he is praised as “an exemplary Malay and Muslim who is moderate and liberal”.)

Okay, that’s the end of the newsmagazine-like article of a Pulitzer Prize winner wannabe. Now let’s get on with what I really think and want to write about.

Folks, be very aware of what some `journalists’, bloggers and assorted scribes write when it comes to subtle attempts to undermine the Muslims and Malays, and also Malaysians. It’s like my example above.

Yes, I’ve written something towards the extreme, especially with the “crucifixion” thing. The point I’m trying to convey is: it’s not too hard to move people through writings.

Try and imagine you are not what you are now (Malays, Muslims, Malaysians mostly). Let’s say you are a middle-aged WASP (White Anglo Saxon Protestant) with a pot-belly, living in Boulder, Colorado.

Regardless of what many Asians think (the `hidung kepek’ kind whose skin colours range from something a bit darker than this page to the colour of satD’s blog (`satD charcoal’) who are in awe and worship any and every Mat Salleh) … Americans are not the demi-gods these pathetic souls think they are.

Forget the Stephen Hawkings, Bill Gates etc kind – Yes, these guys and many more are brilliant. BUT there are also many of the Americans (and Europeans too for that matter) who are… well, a bit clueless, to put it nicely. They are also extremely gullible, and are easily swayed by slick writing, sound bites and images.

Honestly, when you read the first few paragraphs that I had conjured up, what would you feel? For one thing, you’ll be concerned.

For another, you’ll “want to do something to help those poor people”. Third, you’ll agree to whatever the US government etc would decide on “in giving the bad guys some come-uppance”.

How about attempts to topple the Malaysian government…air-strikes of Putrajaya and KL to force the government out? “YES! Of course!…in the name of humanity, the freedom to choose and practise one’s religion! This is a noble attack!”
And this is what “some people” hope would gradually happen. No, they aren’t in Austin, Texas or Little Rock, Arkansas. They are here, among us…

Why So Scared of Sex Video Clip?

I love this! `Independent' media website MalaysiaKini published this letter titled Focus on high priority issues than dodgy porn clip... and another one of Where is our moral high ground?

And the president of the Malaysian Consultative Council for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) [Phew! So loooong] expressed "Utter horror and sheer disgust over scandalous sex video" ... And so on and so forth.

The first is written by one Rajiv Nambiar, whoever he is. The second is by the president of MCCBCHST, Reverend Dr. Thomas Philips; while the third is from Prof Dr Mohamad Tajuddin M. Rasdi (See his profile here. Ini semua bukan orang lekeh-lekeh ye. Cuma Rajiv tu aku tak tahu: kalau Ravi Nambiar, pernah dengar... The Star, kalau tak silap).

There's a couple of common themes here - all are riding a high horse, and all want to divert from the most important issue of all ... WHO is the person in the video, and is he really the person whom many say he is? So, this begs the question:

Why are you all so afraid of facing it?!

Head in the sand... Awas! Bahaya tungging punggung macam ni... takut nanti `ada orang' (yang nama tak boleh disebut) buat sesuatu Heheh!

Bung Mokhtar's "Slow, inattentive women drivers" Remark is Sexist?

"Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) was accused of being a sexist for claiming that women drivers were slow and paid little attention while on the road" (From The Star).

Well, Bung should see how my wife drives - 120 km/h inside the Pencala Tunnel, with one hand on the phone... and making my mouth dry from the fear. "slow" refers to someone else: if you see a Proton Waja hogging the middle lane of the MRR2 and doing only 60 km/h, that's probably me.

Anyway, back to Bung: PAS' Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud accused him of being sexist and demanded that the statement be retracted. But based on the report in The Star, I can't see what she was so riled up about. This is what Bung said:

“Some women drivers drive slowly and seem oblivious to traffic.When you honk at them, they get agitated with some even showing hand gestures to other drivers.”

Note the "Some" qualifier here: it's clear that Bung didn't lump every - or even most - women into this category. If you have been driving long enough and in different parts of the country, you'll have to agree that the culprits tend to be women.

Yes, it is true that there are many men who also drive slow and are oblivious to traffic... not to mention those who drive fast (as in "reckless") and are definitely oblivious to other road users. But in the context of Bung's statement, I must say that I totally disagree with Siti Mariah.

And what did she get for this? "Bung Mokhtar replied that she was politicising road safety issues and told her to sit." Heheh! Padan muka! And I'm going to add another thing; and I don't care if it's sexist either. One of my pet hates is this: the right-side signal of a car in front flashes, and then the driver... turns left! !#@*! Often, it's a woman.

A bit off-topic: Speaking of the Proton Waja (my wife's car), I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by it. Many reviewers had belittled it, and I hadn't given it much respect before... until I actually drove it. Regardless of what these `seasoned professionals' pronounced and their general thumbs down, I must say that the Waja is excellent. It's one of the most comfortable cars that I have driven. Would you believe that it's even more comfortable than a 2.0 Honda Accord of the same year? Well, just borrow a Waja from someone to try for yourself and see whether I'm exaggerating. One of the things that I'm seriously concerned about when I'm driving is this - the possibility of dozing off due to the very comfortable drive!

However, there's one thing that I dislike about the Waja: the quality of the interior. No, not the seats; which are very good for a car of that price range. It's the plastics/vinyl provided by the vendors which look and feel so cheap. These suppliers are responsible for bringing down what would otherwise be an excellent car, and Proton owe it to themselves and Malaysians to ensure that these monkeys aren't given the opportunity to pull off a similar stunt.

When it first came out in 2008/09, it used the source code from the Mozilla Project - the same as Firefox. However, it has now moved on to use the source code from the Chromium Project. As such, you will see (and feel) similarities with the much more better-known Chrome browser by Google. The great thing about this is that Flock can also use many of the extensions (or `addons') developed for Chrome.

Sex Clip a Jolt for Pakatan Rakyat (The Star) | Datuk T Revealed!

Who is Datuk T? How would I know (Okay, so the title above is a bit tipu).

Tapi takkan lah Dato' Ti Lian Ker pulak Heheh! Or maybe it's Datuk Theodore Bagwell @ Teabag of that great television series in 2006, Prison Break? If you had watched this series, mamat ni memang ada rekod buat "benda pelik-pelik".

But whoever he is, Pakatan Rakyat supporters (declared or otherwise) have already gone into ultra-defensive or/and denial modes; attempting to throw red herrings in the hope that the big question - and subsequent implications - are averted: Is the video clip authentic?

One can go about asking all sorts of questions to escape facing the big one - like questioning the journalists' reports ... Or one can question what is the brand of the recording equipment; or what type of makeup the woman is wearing, or whatever else. Go ahead. BUT don't forget to also ask the big question, about whether the person in it is that guy who's also facing a case involving a coffeeboy.

Will the latest sex scandal implicating Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim spell the end of his political career? Much will depend on investigations into the authenticity of the 22-minute video clip.

THE story goes that in 1998, then Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad gave his deputy Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim a choice – quietly retire or face public exposure of his alleged sexual escapades. Anwar, just one step from becoming Prime Minister, chose to stay and fight.

We know how that decision, if true, and the upheavals that followed, have dominated national politics for more than a decade.

Today, 13 years later, a mysterious Datuk T has dumped a massive political bomb by producing what he claims are hard CCTV visuals showing a man resembling an opposition party leader having sex with probably a foreign woman at a hotel. Anwar has strenuously denied that he is the man in the video.

Those who saw the video say there is a striking resemblance between the man in the video and Anwar. The PKR leader at a press conference on Monday admitted there is a resemblance but said the man in the video has a bigger belly.

On a more serious note, Anwar said during the time stamped on the video (about 10.30pm on Feb 21), he was at home with his staff and family members.

While senior PKR leaders immediately rallied around Anwar and were quick to assert that the video was “doctored” without even viewing it, DAP and PAS leaders have not jumped on the denial bandwagon. Instead, they are extremely worried, visibly shaken and desirous of knowing the truth. Their number one worry is how badly this latest scandal implicating Anwar, if true, would impact on their performance in the big election battle ahead.

“We are not worried about the Sarawak election,” a senior DAP leader said.

“We are more worried how this scandal will affect our performance in the general election.

“We are hoping the video is not true. This is indeed a black Monday for us,” he added on condition of anonymity.

Throughout Monday night, DAP and PAS leaders were trying to ascertain the authenticity of the video clip. They contacted and tried to get the truth from those who had viewed the clip, media insiders said.

PAS leaders, it was learnt, also quizzed a Harakah editor who was also reportedly invited to view the clip by Datuk T and his group.

The big question is whether the clip, which one viewer described as “clear and sharp,” is authentic or doctored? This is the question Pakatan leaders also want answered to better prepare their political parties for the firestorm ahead.

They want to adjust their policies and political strategies to survive what they say could be a massive setback. The Pakatan leaders are also worried about the identity of Datuk T and what else his group has on the scandal.

“Obviously they have not revealed all their cards. We don’t want to rush and say or do anything now and look stupid later,” another DAP leader said.

PAS, which is already under tremendous pressure to distance itself from Anwar over revelations in the ongoing sodomy trial, faces a double whammy if the video turns out to be authentic. PAS ulama council chief Datuk Harun Taib has said the party would end its association with the “senior politician” if the video is true.

Some PKR leaders privately feel Anwar should consider stepping down if he is the man in the video.

As the 2007 “Lingam video clip” episode revealed, a PKR leader said, it is not difficult for experts to verify the authenticity of the 22-minute clip. “Digital doctoring is easy to spot,” she said.

Ironically, it was Anwar who called a press conference and released the “Lingam clip” that was a major political issue in 2007 and helped Pakatan win votes a year later.

However, leaders of both PAS and DAP said they would be standing by Anwar as they believed that the airing of the sex video was politically motivated and had condemned it as a “dirty tactic”.

For now, the issue is clouded with numerous accusations, denials and counter accusations, but eventually it would come down to a simple process of verifying the authenticity of the tape by a competent authority.

Now that Anwar has lodged a police report, it is up to the authorities to investigate and determine the clip’s origins and its authenticity.

Nevertheless, the forecast for Anwar’s political career from now on is grim with the emergence of this new scandal. This is because the video is tightly guarded for now but there is no guarantee that the owners will not play the video or post it on the Internet.

Three major sex scandals in as many decades have dogged Anwar when even one could have killed off any politician’s career. That Anwar has lasted this long is a wonder.

Now that he has denied it is him in the video and has lodged a police report, Anwar and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail are unlikely to comply with Datuk T’s demand for them to retire.

Their refusal may spark a major political and legal battle with opponents, a clash that could end Anwar’s dream of becoming Prime Minister and deeply injure the Pakatan Rakyat coalition.

DAP Turns Teoh's Death into a Circus

The Malay Mail's Boycott of Inquiry a political stunt: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak isn't quite right with his comment.

That's just too kind and polite of him; for the DAP, in trying to squeeze and extract the last drop of political juice from Teoh Beng Hock's death, is desperate and ruthless enough to turn it into a circus. It is more concerned about putting on a show than to seek justice.

They have no real respect for the dead man; just feigned concern and sympathy for his memory and for his family. For them, Teoh's death is worth a lot more than his life, and latest move to boycott the hearing of the Commission of Inquiry just shows that they aren't really interested in finding the truth.

And they have no qualms about using Teoh's family to try stir up sentiments, including suspicion and hatred towards anyone and anything that doesn't aid towards their real goal - a power base to call the shots in Malaysia.

Make no mistake that despite whatever socio-political differences, anyone in his right mind does sympathise with his family. Especially with his parents.

Unfortunately, when they allow themselves to be used by the DAP in its devious efforts, then they too have placed themselves in the political ring. And when you are in there throwing punches, you'll have to expect receiving them too. But the DAP doesn't care about that, of course - Teoh's parents are just another of their pawns, to be used until the party has squeezed every last drop of mileage.

In the bid to turn the inquest into a circus, the DAP and its allies also want to run the show. Essentially, they want the monkeys and chimpanzees to decide on how things go. Truth be damned - what they want is the pre-determined `findings' that "Teoh was murdered". From here, it could then be leveraged into hatred towards the Barisan Nasional. Facts? That's not important.

You can see from the beginning that this is what they really want. At first they had screamed about wanting a Commission to inquire about Teoh's death; insinuating that the government "was hiding the truth". And when this was granted, they've changed tack; for they fear that the facts might not lead to what they want.

So they've changed tactics - the objective now is to create confusion by throwing around technicalities and posturing, in the hope that they can mislead people into believing that "the system is rigged".

Teoh's death is the most important ammunition that the DAP think they have. The slogan of "Justice for Teoh" is just that - a slogan to create suspicion and anger. Justice was and is never the prime consideration for the DAP. But don't forget this: the ammunition the DAP has might well blow up with them holding it ... a classic case of Parang makan tuan that ends in poetic justice.

Woi, MBPJ: Hands off gated communities!

Can Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) give a guarantee that residents in its jurisdiction will be safe from crime?...that their homes and families will be protected from predators on the lookout for easy targets?

It can't? Well, then let the residents take care of themselves. If MBPJ really wants to be useful, it can do this: BUZZ OFF!

I'm puzzled as to how the council is so unconcerned about residents' legitimate fears about crime; and especially about its attempt to undermine systems that have proved to be effective in providing better security - gated and guarded communities. And these are facilities that the residents themselves pay for. Or, is MBPJ on the side of the criminals: burglars, thieves, robbers and rapists?

And here's another from The Malay Mail, which is by the paper's editor-in-chief, Yushaimi Yahaya - In defence of the fence. I had written a comment here and I'm reproducing it below:

Kota Damansara - that's where I live now (Villa Damansara, and  it's less than RM100 per month). Before I came to KL/Selangor from Pasir  Mas, I'd definitely have sided with the people who want to dismantle  the fences. After seeing what a gated community is, I'm ashamed to say  that my previous stance was made out of sheer ignorance; of the Pak Kadok Bodoh-Sombong kind.

The fences and the gates - they offer a real sense of security to the  residents in my area. When I first came to the city, I've been worried  about crime; including and especially of cretins who invade others'  abode. Living in a gated community goes a long way in helping to  alleviate this, and I certainly resent whoever and whatever are trying  to get it dismantled. If the authorities can't guarantee the residents'  safety, then they shouldn't try to deny whatever system the residents  have set up in place to do the job.

So what's the problem here...traffic flow? While it's true that it  might be easier for some to travel when they can take alternate routes  through these communities, bear in mind that these are places where  people live - men, women and children... families. Their comfort and  safety must be the prime consideration, and not that of motorists who  are most often not from there. As it is, there are already the existing  roads. Use them, or build new ones to facilitate traffic flow and  access. BUT NOT dismantle a working system that gives peace of mind to  tax- and rate-paying residents.

They are right! Its candidate, Chegu MalaNG and its rakan kongsi sehidup-semati in DAP and PKR did create a shock - they were soundly beaten at the Tenang by-election. Memang terkejut orang-orang yang dah lama - berdekad - dok idamkan KUASA, GLAMER... SYIOK.

"16 September"... "March to Putrajaya"... "Anwar = PM; Lim Guan Eng = Finance Minister; Hadi Awang = Sports Minister; Zul Hasan = Welfare Minister (“Jika orang sedekah, tidakkah anda mahu menerimanya?”)

What a sweet feeling this is; that Malaysia are CHAMPIONS!

But while we savour this moment - with the Prime Minister having also declared Friday 31 December as a national public holiday - excuse me for seeming like a killjoy for mentioning this. No, this isn't done to dilute the joy that true Malaysians are feeling - only a dastardly anti-national would do something like this.

However, let this be mentioned now while we are united and focused on this matter of ensuring continued success for the national team after decades of being in the doldrums - those very few and rare successes notwithstanding. BEWARE: The football bookies will be back!

And there will be players and officials who will sell their souls, their team and their supporters for a fistful of ringgit. It has happened before, and it's likely that it will happen again... unless we slash them immediately the moment they pop up.

Remember those harrowing days in the mid-90s when player after player - including household names - were detained for their collusion with bookies and for match-fixing. It was also one of the main reasons why Malaysian football had declined. Do we want this to happen again?

Here's why the bookies will likely resurface: ironically, it will be because of the national team's latest success. Right now there is renewed interest among the public in football - there is now a much better appetite to follow the sport at all levels in the country. Next season, there will be more zest for the national league and Malaysia Cup. Each state will put in more effort to gain glory, and we the fans, will follow the matches even more closely.

And this vastly increased interest will also result in more punters putting down money - LOTS of it - betting on this and that. Betting, in itself, doesn't directly affect those involved - the players and the other non-betting fans.

However, with so much money floating around, there will be people who will use every means to get their hands on as much of that as possible. They will look for ways to fix results to their advantage. And the best way is to get a few key players to do their bidding... for a share of the loot, of course. Then the cancer will spread, with more players wanting some of the action too, and soon enough we'll be back to the bad old days.

So here's a reminder to those involved, while we celebrate this return to where we should be: Be quick and decisive when this malaise rears its head again. No more of the denials of 15 years ago. No more of wanting to protect players or officials. No more talk and endless warnings and threats "to take stern action": when the bookies and corrupted players and officials resurface, shoot them out of the water IMMEDIATELY!

Okay, let's go back to savouring and enjoying this moment... of again having a national football team that we can be proud of; that can make us HOPE and DREAM. SALUTE TO MALAYSIA!

Glory Days Again for Malaysian Football

What if Indonesia beat Malaysia 4-0 - or more - in the second leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup?

Malaysia may have a comfortable three-goal advantage from the first leg but it's definitely not impossible for Indonesia to claw back from the dead and overturn the tables. And this is precisely why coach K. Rajagobal is preaching caution - it's not over until the fat lady sings. ("What has Datin Rosmah to do with all this??")

I believe over-confidence won't be a problem with Malaysia. However, they'll have to contend with a wounded tiger that now has nothing to lose. And a hostile crowd that is bound to be abusive... fanatical supporters who place the blame for the 3-0 defeat on the laser beam morons. (Would the result be different had there not been this incident?)

But despite the expected pressure and onslaught, I feel Malaysia will come out tops. That's because this team has one very crucial characteristic: they know how to defend. It's something they have proven during the second leg of the semi-final against Vietnam - after getting a 2-0 lead at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, they held on in the return leg. And one of the reasons for that is the presence of a very reliable goalkeeper in Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, plus defenders who don't give much space to the oppositions' attackers.

Anyway, whatever the result in Jakarta, one thing is obvious - this is the best Malaysian football team in years... probably in a few decades. I'd say the last time we had a team to be proud of was the one that qualified for the Moscow Olympics in 1980. That was when we had Hasan Sani, James Wong and Zainal Abidin (who had started out as a defender). After that 1979 team, there were just disappointments for Malaysia.

It's a great time for us all. Having this team has been a great morale booster for Malaysians and we hope the players will continue to bring glory to us all. It feels so good to be a Malaysian!

BATANG KALI: Stupidity and the `membodek’ culture are well and alive in TNB and MCMC. But bad karma is swift to bite back – after threatening a blogger with a prison term, some MCMC top officers are now in danger of ending up in Kajang!

It all started with a good-natured and totally harmless post by blogger Hasan Skodeng – anyone with just average comprehension skills could see it was satire. However, one toadie who was anxious to attract the attention of his superiors at TNB, had convinced them that Hasan Skoding’s post was somehow malicious and detrimental to the corporation.

TNB then lodged a report, screaming: “TNB has never held a press conference nor issued a statement as reported in the article. The statement is a fake and fabricated by the blogger. TNB hoped that MCMC would take appropriate action against those responsible for the blog.”

Those are the words by seemingly `highly educated professionals’ who are actually just a reincarnation of Pak Pandir.

It was now in the hands of MCMC to investigate and decide what to do. Given that TNB had overreacted, MCMC should have shown that they are wise heads and quietly just let the matter lapse.

Unfortunately, the Pak Kadok in the legal department somehow decided there was a case to prosecute!

The descendant of the bodoh-sombong Pak Kadok – Did this (perasan)`legal eagle’ understand what the post was all about? No, his comprehension is faulty, but he was too proud to ask those who would know – the `Mamak jual suratkhabar’ could easily have given his opinion of it being satire

However, after Hasan Skodeng was charged in court, the two-bit MCMC prosecutor would have gotten nervous about his shaky case after reading the finer points argued by Art Harun in his excellent post of Holy mother CRAP - why is Hassan Skodeng smiling?

MCMC Netbooks: Missing in Action

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) are such great people! Just imagine this: a barebones netbook can be bought for just RM400 but the MCMC, being the generous fellows that they are, gladly paid RM835 for it!

And they used up all of RM1 billion to buy tons of the thing to give to “students and low-income earners.” Awww…isn’t that sweet! [They don’t call this the `Multimedia $Commission$’ for nothing.]

So, what then is this all about – of these nice fellows being investigated by the country’s anti-graft body (as in `anti-rasuah’)?

Well, apparently there are lots of questions to be answered by these nice fellows. For one thing, the money used wasn’t from their own duit kepala bapak but from something called the “USP (Universal Service Provision) fund”. The problem here is that the money wasn’t meant to be used for buying netbooks. Read this post by blogger Tony Yew USP: What it is supposed to do and where it is now.

So, why and how was it used anyway? And since we’re at it, Who, Where and What of various things must be asked too. The MCMC, which is under the Information, Communication and Cultural Ministry, comes under the purview of Datuk Rais Yatim. Now, Rais here isn’t someone with a Darjah 6 education from Sekolah Kebangsaan Ulu Jelebu; no siree – he’s a lawyer, and with a Ph.D to boot (Clap! Clap!). Logically, with such qualifications and being the Minister in charge, he should know what can and cannot be done with the USP money. So what happened?

MCMC Releases Remake of "A Bridge Too Far"

[From The Mamak Mail]: LOS ANGELES - Movie and music companies in Hollywood have called upon the authorities in Malaysia to take action against a company here for infringement of copyright issues. They want Malaysia's information czar, Mr Reese Yard-Teem to investigate a Batang Kali-based entertainment company called MCMC (Mat Cendana Multimedia Commission). MCMC has released a film called A Bridge Too Far to burn.

One of the most memorable scenes was where a group comprising of nine Internet companies sang a P. Ramlee song: "Tolong kami, bantu kami, kami anak (rais) yatim piatu" ... and RM1 billion rained upon them.

The company has also released another war film - Burn The Bridge Over The River Kwai. The theme song is played by a rock band called Deepshit Purple - Burn The Bridge sung by M. Daud Coverdale.

They may be on the other side of the planet, but the fate of the 33 miners trapped far below the surface of the earth has been on our minds since almost two months ago. Thank God, it looks like their ordeal is coming to an end very soon.

I had tried to imagine what they must have felt when they were trapped on Aug 5, and not being able to do anything about it. They couldn't communicate with the outside world to tell rescuers that they were alive and where they were exactly. All they could hope for was that people on the outside would do something... anything.

And day by day they had waited. That thought must have entered their minds; that the people above might have given up hope. That would mean it was only a matter of time before they starved to death. How horrible it must have been to be more than 600 metres below the ground - like being inside a grave, except that you aren't dead yet. But you know you will be; and slowly.

Anyway, an Associated Press report at 9:30PM Malaysia time says rescuers have finished installing steel tubing to reinforce the top of a shaft to bring the miners out.

But there's some way to go yet. A cage (right) will be used to hoist the miners up, but it's not a simple operation. "This is a dangerous mission. We don't want them to panic. The hole is small, rocks will fall on them. It will be frightening."

Meanwhile The Sun says Manchester United legend, Sir Bobby Charlton - whose father had worked in a coalmine - has issued an invitation to bring the miners to Old Trafford.

After all, it has branches overseas, and the title is "maybank2u.com". So I entered my Username of matcendana and Password, cendana287. This page came up, asking for the TAC:

Since I was too lazy to ask for a TAC, I entered the number 028705. It was correct!...a one-in-a-million chance. The next page asked me for my email address etc... which I furnished, of course.

Then, the bank helpfully informed me that its security team will verify what I had given out and send a confirmation email. It also warned me not to Log In to my account until I had received the email. Okay, they must have very important reasons - doing so might interrupt their computers or something, and I might get sued!

But don't worry about my RM945K - I had also received another email from AHMED MUSA DELIMAH. He's an auditor at the Bank of Africa in Burkina-Faso, and he wants my help to transfer US$9.6 million - that's almost RM30 million...

PERKASA, Monkeys & The Atomic Frog (Cartoon Series)

Thanks to the frequency and predictable monotony in which they are hurled,`Frog King’, `Katak’ and similar permutations have become synonymous with Perkasa’s Datuk Ibrahim Ali. And that’s a good thing for Ibrahim!

These Ibrahim Ali haters and detractors are no doubt pleased with their `success’ in attaching this label. It was a case where one parroted another, with the rest – stuck on `Pak Turut’ mode – simply repeated the `frog’ and `katak’ tag. And they even thought it was very clever and original!

Unfortunately, instead of insulting him, these clueless Ibrahim Ali haters have instead elevated the Pasir Mas MP to a highly respected position! If they had done their homework by undertaking just a bit of research first, they would realise just how crucial frogs are in the grand scheme of things!

CAPTION: Why aren’t frogs mentioned in Pink Floyd’s ANIMAL album; as are Dogs, Sheep and Pigs? Because there isn’t anything to deride them for. You don’t get it? Okay, read on.

So what and where is the `insult’ and the vilification of Ibrahim when you call him that? This one: “that Ibrahim hops and jumps from one party to another. He was in Berjasa, then Umno, then Semangat 46, then Umno again. Now an independent.”

That’s it?! And what’s the problem here? These detractors might offer this: “It means that he is without principles…jumping when there’s an advantage to be had.”

Okay, the second part first: doesn’t that show he is smart, intelligent and aware…? Only imbeciles will jump when that results in a disadvantage. Or morons and cowards who are too dumb and without a backbone… freezing and being paralysed from taking the right action when there’s an advantage!

“without principles”…? And what may these principles be? It’s like those people – including PAS Dewan Ulamak head and Kelantan Menteri Besar, Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat – who had insisted that Ibrahim should “give up the Pasir Mas seat so that a by-election can be held.”

Why the heck should he? – the voters had chosen HIM! Incidentally, are all these people voters in Pasir Mas? No? Then shut up! By the way, I am a voter registered there…

It was clear from the very first day that Ibrahim had insisted on being an Independent candidate… not BN, not PAS, not PKR. And he still is. So what’s the complaint here… what `principles’ are he without?

The term of `frog’ is actually so precise and accurate when it comes to Ibrahim Ali! He is a socio-political frog. Many environmental scientists believe that amphibians, including frogs, are excellent biological indicators of broader ecosystem health.

In Ibrahim Ali’s case, it’s the “Social and Political Ecosystem”. He is an indicator of how things are or/and how it will be. Ibrahim is someone a bit ahead of his time. See what had happened in the past … Berjasa – What came of it? And Semangat 46? Umno after 2004 until 2008?

QUIZ: (1) Why did Ibrahim become an Independent? ANSWER: Because he was sacked by Umno for standing as an Independent candidate in 2004.

(2) Why wasn’t Ibrahim selected as the Umno candidate? ANSWER: Go and ask a certain clique who had decided on this (CLUE: At least one of them is mentioned in KijangMas’ post of Perkasaphobia ....... and UMNO)

Say what you want about Ibrahim Ali. But I’d rather have him than those poseurs mentioned by KijangMas. “High-ranking in Umno” shouldn’t and doesn’t automatically carry with it “Having the whole-hearted support of Malays, Muslims, Malaysians.”

CAPTION: A monkey using Malays, Muslims, Malaysians to reap the bountiful harvest at the top…Fearful the Panglimas of Perkasa will put him where he belongs – as a `berok panjat nyior’.

Why Weren’t Killer Lawyers Stopped Earlier?

The police investigating the murder case of cosmetics millionaire Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and three others have done a good job. However, there are disturbing questions that need answers.

Among other things, why were the two killer lawyers allowed to go free for so long despite the numerous police reports lodged against them?

The most recent case involving Sosilawati and her companions are already shocking. Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has described the murders as a heinous crime. However, as new information come to be unveiled, it appears that they weren’t the first victims, for more may have died at hands of Sosilawati killers.

CAPTION: Killer lawyers managed to stay free despite numerous reports lodged against them. WHY?

In the New Straits Times yesterday of “Frustrated at cops’ inaction”, a businessman said he had lodged five reports against the two lawyers since 1998 over cheating cases. However, no action were taken against them.

Rajasekaran Thiagarajan, a lawyer representing this businessman said the police, MACC and even the Bar Council did not realise the seriousness of the reports lodged.

“Police should have been more vigilant and taken action against them between 2007 and last year when many victims and their families lodged reports,” he said.

There were allegations that the brothers had “powerful connections”. Considering the fact that they had managed to be free for so long despite all these reports suggests that these claims aren’t so `wild and baseless’ as to be dismissed offhand. Now nobody wants to claim they were ever close to these killers. But the police/Home Ministry/MACC must also investigate these previous cases – Why was there no action despite all these reports?

**UPDATE 17/9 7:45PM -- The Malay Mail reports that "Federal police are to interview Kuala Langat police personnel who handled the re-opened files of seven fraud allegations, a murder and a missing person’s report linked to the "Datuk lawyer", the key suspect in the grisly quadruple killings here.
It was learnt Kuala Langat Land Office staff would also be questioned in connection with the fraud reports, all believed to involve land transactions valued at RM7.1 million." READ MORE HERE...

Burnt Bodies of Sosilawati and 3 Others Found! Datuk Arrested!

**Police have found traces of four burnt bodies at a poultry farm near Tanjung Layang, Morib BELIEVED to be cosmetic millionaire, Sosilawati Lawiya and the three men who had disappeared on Aug 30.**

Kosmo reported that police have detained six people, including a lawyer Datuk, for investigations into the case. The paper quoted an unnamed source as saying that this Datuk, who has connections with various influential people, is the middleman in the sale of land in Penang valued at RM4 million.

The source also said that this lawyer Datuk is believed to be involved in the disappearance of two other people.

What a shocking revelation! Many of us had quietly feared the worst might have happened to cosmetic millionaire, Sosilawati Lawiya and the three men who had disappeared on Aug 30. But it was still a shocker when this was finally confirmed.

So much for the police insisting that there are No new leads on Sosilawati and giving the media the runaround…

I had taken a last look at the RSS feeds here at 1am before going to bed. However, the title at ParpuKari’s blog prevented that: GEMPAR! SOSILAWATI DIBUNUH DENGAN KEJAM!? ParpuKari, in turn, had seen it at Mesin Taip Buruk.

I went around to the various media sites to try confirm this – Bernama, New Straits Times, The Malay Mail, The Star, plus at Google News. However, there was none around that time. But I kept a watch by watching the Twitter stream at Google News. Users were arguing among themselves about this… until someone produced links to Mingguan Malaysia and Kosmo. When it comes to 1-Malaysia, I’ve stayed at the sidelines all this while, being neither for nor against. However, KijangMas’ diagnosis is cause for concern – clearly, 1-Malaysia isn’t just a silly but harmless gimmick limited to people posing for pictures with their index fingers pointing to the sky. This doesn’t auger well for us all. And “us” isn’t limited to just Malays – fool around with fundamental principles as clearly stated in the Constitution and everyone will eventually come out losers.

But when someone is so absorbed by the addiction, he’ll keep seeking new highs with 1-Malaysia. Eventually he will inject to the neck… `ironing out all non-1Malaysia obstacles’, like the pesky Article 153.

Coming out of nowhere dropping like rain

Stormbringer -- This song from the 1974 album of the same name by legendary rock group Deep Purple is one of the most exhilarating songs I’ve ever heard. And `exhilarating’ was also how I and many others had viewed the grand entrance of KijangMas in blogosphere when he started the Demi Negara blog in the middle of 2008.

Of course, to some people, the more accurate adjective for KijangMas’ `intrusion’ to their previously cosy existence online was…`frightening’.

And in his wake came various Patriots - tough bloggers and commentators who could counter opposing opinions and assertions very well besides articulating their own positions and the supporting points. And they couldn’t be shouted down. Nor were they intimidated by concerted attempts to discourage them from blogosphere; some of it were plain abusive and vulgar. These Patriots; their minds and courage were stimulated and fuelled by KijangMas Perkasa (links to Facebook Profile)

For this was a man whose writings were in a class of their own (one PR-supporting, BN/Umno-hating writer tried hard to belittle the quality… as if he, the critique wannabe, was of Pulitzer category). They were of uncommon boldness, depth and quality. This was the entrance of a charismatic thinker and natural leader who came at a time when Malaysians – Malays, Muslims, Patriots – were in a directionless and confused state.

And what a delight it was to know that KijangMas is also a genuine royalty from the Kelantan-Patani line! A king with the pedigree to lead, and is also democratically agreed upon by common consensus… The previous loner Mat Cendana is glad to follow such a leader.

Anyway, after a hiatus of five months, KijangMas is back with his eagerly awaited, “State of the Union” post of So Whats Up Malaysia? So highly rated is KM and the DM blog that even `Brader Blogger’ Rocky Bru, whose blog is at the very top in the local SoPo blogosphere, felt it worthy of mention: Will the REAL Anak Bangsa Malaysia stand up, please?! [Bro, my legs are hurting – can I sit down now?]

And speaking of Anak Malaysia – or Bangsa Malaysia – I have TONS to say about this. But not right now (Maybe I’ll leave a comment at Rocky’s Bru) … For this specific post, I want it to be my own personal acknowledgement and a tribute to KijangMas, and also the Demi Negara Community. KijangMas has stated some pertinent issues, and to the `leaders’ of BN, Pakatan and whatever Parti Chop Itik, take serious note of this:

How come we have allowed our destiny and our childrens’ future be charted by a bunch of bungling fools, perverts, tricksters and outright crooks?

CHECKLIST: Are You in an Islamic State?

If you are in Kelantan, then that’s an Islamic state many times over. In fact, at its current thrust and after the minting of the Dinar, the PAS government is on course to exceed even that of the Kalifah Ar-Rasyidin! Gasp!

Yes, this is the evaluation of the up-and-coming Islamic scholar and analyst, Ahmad Cendana al-Parsi (as in `Salman’ of the Khandaq War fame).

Some fellow from the said Islamic state reading this might resent the (self) elevation of Mat Cendana into this jealously guarded category – a hierarchy which certain people want to keep exclusive for self-interested reasons. Like what? Like “sheep and cattle would follow…” Simple betul nak heret hidung setengah orang, ye? Heheh!

“What qualifications do you have?!… Ada pergi Universiti Al-Azhar ke? Berapa tahun duduk di Mekah? Belajar pondok mana; tok guru mana??”… And the Soalan Cepumas aka Bonanza Question: “Ada sertai perjuangan harakah Islamiah ke, sama-sama kami berjihad??”

That’s what the said fellow would demand of Ahmad Cendana al-Parsi… the one with the jubah, kupiah and facial hair that even a guy with an AK-47 rifle and rocket launcher in Kandahar would envy.

Well, when it comes to facial hair, some friends had said my moustache reminds them of Fu Manchu. And goatee/beard – it’s definitely regarded as “Countable Noun”… A RM1.70 Gillette or Schick disposable razor often lasts four months with me.

But I have the qualifications – I got a C6 for Islamic Religious Studies, and the certificate is issued by the University of Cambridge and signed by Vice-Chancellor, A.R. Murray. This is superior to the A1 certified by… Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia. Ini barang local punya, mana boleh lawan dengan CAMBRIDGE Haha! [Please regard mine as A2… had focused on answering a `super hot’ Hadith and all the four Ar-Rasyidin caliphs… which weren’t asked, Cheh!]

Oh, I had also been to Haji Lah’s Pondok in Lubok Tapah, Haji Rani’s Pondok in Kubang Bemban, Pondok Haji Ismail Kampung Dangar and Pondok Lati in Pasir Mas… yeah, well; maybe around 30 times in 27 years for Maghrib and Isyak prayers. Kira OK lah, kan…

AND I was a hardcore PAS supporter from 1983 to October 2008… 25 years. Beat these, NEWBIES! "Has Ahmad Cendana al-Parsi defected to Umno!…like Abdullah Bin Ubai during the Badar War?!”, some mangkuk-category zealot might try to imply.

The answer is, Mat Cendana has chosen to align himself with The Demi Negara Community… and accepts the leadership of KijangMas Perkasa. Which brings us to this blog’s new template…

As for PAS and its Kelantan `Islamic’ state – after the Dinar and Dirham, the state government will introduce one more element to solidify its credentials… the usage of camels in the state to replace Protons! Until the next post, folks!

Securities Commission Mek Nah & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence

Do you long for silence when the Wangsa Maju MP, newspapers and bloggers scream abuse of power, sham and conflict of interest? -- Mat Cendana in Batang Kali (Perhatian - ini bukan filem atau lagu, ye.. `Batang KaliMULLAH Hassan'? Heheh!)

Then there's also `Silence is Golden'... (Makan besar diam-diam...isteri kan orang top. Hmm, `top..duduk di atas?') -- Securities Commission chairman Tan Sri Zarinah Anwar... the main beneficiary and current wielder of Joe Don Baker's Big Stick aka Securities Commission Act 1993. Especially of Section 134, which the SC had used against a few journalists last month in an effort to force them to reveal their source at the commission.

CAPTION: "Go on; make your best hit, Mek Nah... It's probably your last."

The Centre for Independent Journalism, Malaysia (CIJ) , through Executive Officer Masjaliza Hamzah, had issued this statement on June 29 about the SC's high-handedness brought about by old-fashioned `mabuk kuasa'.

Jangan main-main dengan SC ni! If you come across a SC officer, just do what your grandfather had done in 1942 when `someone with a red like-PAS flag' is encountered - stop and bow... to the Japanese and now SC Shorty (`short' refers to his height only, and hopefully not `anything else').

Pendek bukan sebarang pendek ni... Shorty can put you in Kajang Prison where you'll eat nasi kawah for 5 years, and also fine you one million ringgit! Unless you're friends with Bill Gates of Microsoft or the Sultan of Brunei, just answer when a SC officer asks you something. This includes (for women) "Are you a virgin...anak dara ke? Atau dah diperlucutkan taraf; expire, bukan hakmilik kekal? HAHAHA!"

But despite legitimate allegations against her - including `pilih bulu' (tak payah tanya `apa') relating to possible misconduct by her husband, Datuk Azizan Abdul Rahman - Zarinah keeps silent. WHY??

Dignified silence against `false accusations'?... This stance isn't appropriate in this instance. Look WHO are making these claims -- Wee Choo Keong is a Member of Parliament; someone who was elected by the people! Apparently, neither Wee nor his Wangsa Maju voters - plus supporters nationwide, including Mat Cendana - are important enough, in Mek Na's eyes and mind. "Serfs, pariahs!"

And neither is Ahirudin Attan aka Rocky's Bru, who is a veteran journalist, the editor-in-chief of a newspaper plus a widely read and respected blogger. Even those who had raised pertinent questions and presented their claims in a reasonable manner , like A Voice, Big Dog etc were ignored by the Simon & Garfunkel-inspired Zarinah.

And then one mamat in the SC - Corporate Affairs Department head Abdul Jalil Hamid - tried to copy Mat Cendana (Ahem!) and be `a knight in shiny armour' for his boss, Mek Na. Unfortunately, it was pathetic!

The Securities Commission "menafikan sekeras-kerasnya"... So their denial of the allegations made by Wangsa Maju MP Wee Choo Keong is of diamonds and lutetium; the hardest substances on Earth. And what does that show and prove? NOTHING. And this is by the head aka ketua aka kepala! Hallo, boss -- outsource and seek the help of others lah. [Hint, hint... Batang Kali]

To Zarinah Anwar and the kaki ampu in the SC, plus to the relevant minister and mandarins -- We are totally fed up with this. Can we see something positive NOW, pretty please!?

Price Increase of Sugar, LPG & Fuel - A Good Move

Let's see the pseudo-socialists come out of the woodwork today with their tired "Kenaikan harga barang-barang ini akan membebankan rakyat!"

In a perfect world, we wouldn't see price increases. Heck, in this kind of world, they should be available without cost to everyone. But we're living in a world where this is the reality. And in this particular round of increases, they are justified.

The Malay Mail reports that subsidies for petrol, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and sugar will be reduced as a first step to the gradual subsidy rationalisation programme. Subsidies for RON 95 petrol and diesel will be reduced by five sen a litre and LPG by 10 sen a kilogramme.

This means RON 95 grade petrol will cost RM1.85 a litre while LPG will be sold at RM1.85 per kilogramme. And sugar, which is now RM1.65, will now cost RM1.95.

"But this will result in other things that use this to go up too!", some would lament. Yes, if these aren't absorbed by the producers/providers. But these increases should be in proportion to how much they add to the cost.
As The Malay Mail says it, a cup or glass of Teh Tarik should be increased by only 1.25 sen... unless if a glass uses 1kg of sugar. So, if the increase is more than that, then the seller is taking you for a ride... which means you should stop drinking at his shop. If you still do, then you're just a sucker.

CAPTION: Sugar at Giant Kota Damansara last month. After facing empty shelves for months in Kelantan, this was a pleasant sight for me.

The price of sugar will still be cheaper than in Thailand. However, it will be less profitable for irresponsible traders to divert their stock to there; which has been the case in Kelantan especially for so long. I can personally attest to the severe difficulty in obtaining sugar for months. From today, you can bet that sugar will make a reappearance on the shelves.

ENGLAND Will Win World Cup. Seriously.

"HOW can a team that has scored only one goal in 180 minutes, and has yet to win a group match, ever do that?!"
Simple - by winning their remaining five matches. Folks, look beyond the performance and results of the matches against Algeria and the United States. Look at England and the players representing that team; and remember the demolitions of Croatia during qualifying. Look at the manager, Fabio Capello... and now you see what I'm talking about. Err, you don't...?

Okay, here's what I see: England, and Wayne Rooney especially, were under tremendous pressure when the tournament started. England were exceptional during qualification while Rooney had a scintillating season. And this pressure had gotten to them.
But the good thing is that, after the two mediocre performances, expectations aren't so high now. In fact, it has gone the other way; with England and the players receiving severe criticism. They know what's at stake, and the next match against Slovenia will see a different England -- the real England.

The coach, Fabio Capello - does he strike you as a loser? No, this is a man who knows what to do. The team selected for South Africa: now who would have guessed that he'd drop Theo Walcott, the player responsible for getting England to the top after the disastrous Euro 2008 qualification disappointment. But Capello did what's necessary. And you can expect him to do the same in the final group match. John Terry instigating a revolt? Well, Capello showed who's boss -- you don't allow the monkeys to run the circus. As former England defender Terry Butcher said, the players need to "work hard, then nothing else matters."

Don't forget previous tournaments where teams that barely scrapped through the first round went on and on. In 1990, England's first two matches ended in 1-1 and 0-0 draws. England won the third, and went on to the semi-final. What's to stop them from repeating the same - at least - in this South Africa World Cup?

Keshvinder Singh Left in `Crocodile' Underwear After DAP Sues!

The DAP will sue his pants off... This is what Perak DAP chairman Ngeh Koo Ham wants to do to Malim Nawar assemblyman Keshvinder Singh. Hopefully, he's wearing something underneath - if not, will terayun-rayun Haha!

Ngeh said the DAP has an agreement signed with its Perak lawmakers, which stipulates a penalty of RM5 million if an elected representative leaves the party.

Actually, Keshvinder has a fighting chance of winning. See this: if an elected representative leaves the party. He can try a loyar buruk, putar belit defence - "Nooo! Everyone can attest that I never leave a party even when I'm dead-drunk!" OR, "What party?!.. After Pakatan lost Perak, there's no more party. Nothing to celebrate-lah."

By the way, it won't be just Keshvinder being sued. Ngeh said Jelapang state assemblywoman Hee Yit Foong, who turned independent last year, had also signed the agreement. But the more important question is: Does she also wear pants? If not, what will be sued off?

Sime Darby & `Gatal Tangan-itis'

Sime Darby... the one-time blue chip company; not to mention with the biggest market capitalisation. Employees often held their heads up high; proud to be associated with this aristocratic darling of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). But how the mighty has fallen!

By the way, some readers might be astonished -- "Wow, Mat Cendana writing an economics-related post! Ini mesti banyak auta Haha!" ... Oh, part auta tu standard lah... yang menteri, ada PhD, pakai necktie, pakai kupiah lagi kuat auta Heheh!

But seriously, this company is too well-known. And that comes with high expectations. Who would have thought that the great Sime Darby would incur the kind of losses as reported? Well, actually many - ever since the financial crisis of the late 90's, it has shown that its management and board of directors are just as clueless as the next suit-wearing fake who'd pepper his conversations with terms like Dividend Yield, PE Ratio, BLR and extrapolate how the Dow Jones Index would be affected by Iran and North Korea's response to the price of oil, taking into account how much Warren Buffet exposes Berkshire Hathaway to NASDAQ companies this week. PeeeWiiitt !!

Sime Darby appears to suffer a disease like Mat Cendana... Gatal Tangan-itis; not able to leave well enough alone. They were doing quite good in the 90's from their plantations. But "it's boring, no glamour". So, the bright sparks at Sime Darby then made a BIG decision - they went into banking by taking over UMBC and renaming it Sime Bank. Now this is a field they know nuts about, but that's not a problem -- they are Sime Darby and they can walk on water. Great timing -- the financial crisis happened almost immediately, resulting in a loss of almost a billion ringgit. Sime Bank becomes RHB; and Sime vowed to stick to what it knows best i.e plantations.

But this Gatal Tangan-itis... it had to go into the energy & utilities field; taking over the Bakun project. Here's the corporate Mission again: Our Mission - Making a sustainable future real for everyone.
And it boasts about how savvy it is with `modern business and management' -- It's About Maximising Synergies. Waaah, hebat bunyi! But the result is...?

Sime Darby should have stayed with plantations (I told you so!). Oil palm is boring? Okay, why not diversify -- tanam ubi kayu... Sime Ubi, a division of Sime Darby. Hey, it rhymes! And it won't lose RM1.3 billion. Balik kampung tanam jagung lah, Musa Hitam & Board of Directors! CHEH!! No politics today, folks. Instead of annoying `some people' with my usual anti-PR posts, let's have a few laughs instead. No, not at the expense of favourite whipping boy, Anwar Ibrahim Heheh!

By the way, if you think the new look of this blog sucks, so do I. This is Blogger's fault -- they have new templates, and knowing my gatal tangan, just had to make changes. Don't worry, I'll do something about this gaudy and sakit mata look later.

Anyway, if you think the standard of English in Malaysia has gone down the drain (which is true), then these fellows here must be sewer class. Here's the menu of some restaurant... I'm not sure how the owner will deal with overheads like rent, electricity etc if too many patrons order that appetiser which takes them to the ICU.

Now this barber shop; it's not like the Indian barber we're familiar with. Apparently, this barber will shave your...[censored]... Anyone would like to try?...A sharp blade around a `sensitive area'... one slip and... Let's move on.

Here's another restaurant menu. I wouldn't mind the mango salad, but I'll have to ask a doctor about this super-rich nutrient. It's definitely a magnetic attraction though. And the one below -- would it be okay to just have the crab without the `main item'?

This is your typical Arrival/Departure notice board...except the operator isn't too sure about the concept of time. Apparently, in some places, one hour isn't 60 minutes. Shouldn't be too surprising -- the "Jam Melayu" used by some people could mean "Multiply by 2"... or more.

Here's a place where capital punishment appears to be routine. A notice that urges caution due to a wet floor and electricity takes on new meaning. God Bless these innocent butchers of the English language! :-)

Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu to Contest in Semut Api Constituency!

In the name of `Muhibbah'... The next general election might see the Israel Prime Minister being welcomed to contest the Semut Api constituency in Kelantan. And since Nik Aziz has declined to be the head of Pakatan Rakyat, the post will automatically go to Netanyahu.

Why not Netanyahu?... he already has a kupiah - albeit a "Size S" when compared to our regular lebai. He will also freely use the term `Allah' during campaigning in Kelantan. Nothing wrong here -- PAS says it's okay for everyone to do so.

Apasal... orang PAS marah ke aku tulis gini? Cool down, brothers Lebai -- I'm only interpreting what PAS leaders had declared. After all, it's the party's president, Haji Hadi Awang, who said "PAS is ready to field non-Muslim candidates in the next general elections". And since Netanyahu is a Jew, he qualifies.

So, what about the `Allah Issue'? Apparently only Harun Din dares to speak his mind about the High Court ruling which allows others to use this term however they like. Yang pemimpin dengan ahli PAS yang lain camana?... demi nak jaga hati saudara sehati-sejiwa dalam Pakatan, sampai sanggup duduk diam bila orang mencabar agama. Bunyi kata parti "berlandaskan Al-Quran dan Hadith"...

June 15 - Let's Go to War Against Sundry Cartel, Extortionists & Looters!

Sundry Goods Merchants Associations of Malaysia will stop selling controlled items that include sugar on June 15 to protest licensing requirements. We hope they will stop selling everything!

These abusers of government subsidies - the thieves and looters of national money meant to help the people - must be taught a lesson. Let's go to war against these economic scumbags, boys!
I have long itched for this, but didn't have anyone to target previously. For MONTHS, while in Pasir Mas, I wasn't able to buy sugar. And that meant using condensed milk as substitute. What happened to the sugar? These damn sundry traders sold it to syndicates in Thailand!
This is despicable. For all those months I've been denied sugar, I hope for someone or something to lash out against. It's so nice of these merchants to stand up and be such a lovely target!

Why are they protesting? The government had initially wanted to imposed a nominal RM10 charge for a license. But this has been waived.
There's only one reason - they will face a lot more difficulty in siphoning supply and selling them to Thailand... and creating hardship for consumers, besides making ineffectual government subsidies for essential goods. And they have the temerity to threaten a boycott by not selling these goods from June 15! Okay, bring it on!

Bung Mukhtar Resigns as MP! (And the mysterious object in pocket)

Kinabatangan MP Bung Mukhtar created a shock that is rated at 9.5 on the political Richter scale when he responded to a call for his resignation with a totally unexpected move!

It had started with a predictable, garden-variety, dime-a-dozen, Yawnn! call by the Sabah DAP after Bung was handed a one-month prison term and fined RM1,000 by a syariah court for committing polygamy with actress Zizie Uzette Abdul Samad without the court's permission.

In the Daily Express, Sabah DAP Welfare and Rural Development Bureau chief, Jeffrey Kumin said Bung, "in being a lawmaker himself, is a bad example for the people to follow, especially among the young generation. "We cannot accept such a figure to continue to sit in Parliament because this will bring a bad image to it," Kumin said.

In a totally unanticipated response, Bung Mukhtar said he agreed with Kumin... and resigned! Bung thus becomes the first person in Malaysia and the whole of South America and Africa to have done so. In a press conference which was also attended by Zizie, an emotional Bung said:

"Yes, I was arrogant to ignore the syariah regulations and simply married Zizie. But you all must understand... Tak tahan oooo! I love Zizie so much I did it.. Uwaaa Huwaaaaaaaa!", wailed a distressed Bung.

Oh, no! After ranking the Sibu by-elections as "The Battle of the Century", DAP's Lim Kit Siang now declares the party's win as "a miracle".

He'd have added "The DAP's win is the greatest miracle since Moses parted the Red Sea!" had he not been worried about ultra-conservatives in PAS objecting. Savvy politician that he is, Lim - a descendant of Si Lunchai, doesn't want to create suspicions among the Kadok-Pandir clans, whose votes the DAP need to try kill Umno and the BN.

Inspired by the bombastic declarations, and not wanting to be outdone, Bridget Welsh proclaimed of a `sea change' in Sibu: "The moment I sensed a sea change in the Sibu by-election campaign was during the Friday ceramah, two days before polling." Hardly of Nostradamus class though - this is like a football expert claiming only last week he had sensed Chelsea would win the EPL and FA Cup.

`A miracle' and a `sea change'... because the DAP won with a 398-vote majority in a Chinese-majority constituency? HAHA! Well, with the problems Pakatan Rakyat is facing - and especially PKR - every floating straw is seen as such by one who is drowning.

But what is astonishing is the response of those in the peninsular... and especially if they are Malays, and those concerned about racist (as opposed to `racial') politics being on the rise. Read some of the blogs and you'll see descendants of Pak Kadok and Pak Pandir also hailing the DAP's win. It's obvious that many Chinese have moved to giving support to the chauvinist DAP. And yet many in PAS and PKR are happy, for they somehow see this "as a blow to Umno".

The descendants of Si Lunchai and Pak Belalang will be happy for this to continue. Anwar Ibrahim-Belalang only sees being PM as the ultimate - Malays, Muslims, Malaysians be damn. Ronnie Lunchai-Liu wants this to continue too - for the continued support of the Kadok-Pandir clans despite the hanky-panky in Selangor. And the Kadok-Pandir clan members clapped and cheered; always willing to lie down on roads and fight the police... while the Lunchai and Belalang smiled.

BN and PR Agree on Chronic-Candidates Quota!

Barisan and Pakatan leaders are believed to have entered a secret pact to ensure by-elections are held regularly for the "syiok" factor, MC Hammer News Agency reports.

This comes about after the Sibu and Hulu Selangor by-elections which thrilled the respective winners -- DAP won the former while MIC carried HS. In both cases, the seats were previously won by their opponents.

DAP's Lim Kit Siang, in his usual bombastic style, had proclaimed the Sibu by-election as "Battle of (the) Century". Having more by-elections will give him the chance to declare everything as being "of biblical proportions".

Since the March 2008 General Elections, there had been a number of by-elections; mostly due to the death of the representative. And most were won by Pakatan. However, since Manek Urai - and despite losing - BN now see these by-elections as avenues to score a point or two against its opponents. In a win-win situation for both, so does Pakatan... and this is how the secret pact has come about.

They have agreed that a certain percentage of their candidates will be those with chronic health problems, and are not expected to live beyond two years. Priority will be given to those with at least three ailments, especially the HIV-chronic, high blood pressure and heart disease. BN and PR also promised that these candidates will be given safe seats.
